The Campaign to End Homelessness is noting some progress Michigan has seen in recent years. The group’s Kelly Rose says homelessness was down 6% in 2015. Still, homelessness remains a problem.

“We had almost 70,000 Michigan citizens that experienced homelessness in 2015,” Rose said. “So, there’s a lot of our citizens out there who are struggling and we’re working to get housing for them every day.”

One bright bit of news is that veteran homelessness was down 15%. Rose says the Campaign to End Homelessness has been working the past two years to have a strategic way of investing in housing resources, and getting help to those who need it the most.
