The Democrat challenging Congressman Fred Upton is upset that the incumbent Republican won’t debate him. Paul Clements is a Western Michigan University professor and asked to have four debates last week, only to be told it wasn’t going to happen. He’s not happy.

“Is it acceptable for him not to stand and take questions, and present his vision and ideas and defend his record,” asks Clements. He challenged Upton two years ago as well. The congressman from St. Joseph has been in office since 1987 after defeating incumbent Republican Mark Siljander in 1986.
