More than 1,800 people have had a chance to chat with state Senator John Proos about issues on their mind with a tele-town hall he held on Monday. Proos tells our newsroom he took the call as an opportunity to warn people about the latest phone scam, and also field some questions.

“We were able to take nine different questions and answer those questions from everything related from roads to taxes, related to questions about safe communities, and some of the questions about heroin and heroin addition, and questions about drugs in our community,” Proos said.

Proos says the tele-town halls are a good chance to be able to reach out to a large number of people and learn what’s on their minds. A survey of the folks who called in found 39% of them consider jobs and the economy the most important issue. 33% said insurance rates, and 20% said education.
