Interested in maybe picking up some property in Michigan for hunting or other recreational activities. The Michigan DNR will offer surplus public land in a sealed-bid auction beginning December 6th. That’s according to the DNR’s Michael Michalek.

“The DNR has surplus properties that we get together,” Michalek said. “The divisions review properties, and we surplus the ones that are isolated from other DNR-managed lands. They’re often difficult for us to manage, and provide limited recreational benefit.”

Michalek says the land is usually in northern Michigan, but can be anywhere in the state. Sealed bids will be taken through January 10th. For more information, go to michigan.gov/landsforsale.
