Indiana Michigan Power has restored service to more than two-thirds of customers who lost power as a result of heavy wind gusts on Thursday. Service is expected to be restored to the remaining customers – most of them in southwest Michigan – by 11 p.m.

I&M crews and contractors from other parts of our service territory are joining the Michigan crews to restore all customers who lost service due to the heavy winds.

As of 10 a.m., about 1,700 Michigan customers remained without service. The estimated time of restoration for customers in the Benton Harbor area is 3 p.m. The remainder, south and east of Benton Harbor, are expected to be restored by 11 p.m.

In Indiana, only about 100 customers remained without service in the South Bend/Elkhart area. They are expected to see service restored by 4 p.m.
