U.S. Senator Debbie Stabenow continues to press the Trump administration to release a U.S. Army Corps of Engineers plan on keeping Asian carp out of the Great Lakes. Following a bipartisan and bicameral meeting yesterday, Michigan’s senior U.S. senator called the White House suppression of the report “deeply irresponsible.” Stabenow says the plan needs to be made public and acted on quickly to separate the Chicago River system and the Illinois River from Lake Michigan, as the invasive carp are getting closer every year to the lake. The Corps report was due to be released in February, but has been indefinitely delayed by President Trump.
