A St. Joseph High School student has been picked to serve on the Michigan High School Athletic Association Student Advisory Board. Megan Corbe is a cross country runner and soccer player, and she’ll be one of 16 students statewide on the council. The MHSAA’s Geoff Kimmerly tells WSJM News the kids on the council are the cream of the crop.

“The people that are selected for this, we certainly have high expectations for them and what they’re going to bring to the  table,” Kimmerly said.

Kimmerly tells us Corbe was picked for her student involvement, grades, and because her A.D. recommended her. The Student Advisory Council advises the MHSAA on policy.

“It’s really a great way for high school student athletes to be involved and learn about what we do and also help us do a better job.” Kimmerly said.

The advisory council meets once a month. Corbe, who will be a junior next school year, will serve until the end of her senior year.
