Gas Prices Up 7¢ Statewide

Our gas prices in Michigan are up 7¢ a gallon from last week. Triple-A Michigan puts the average at $2.50, which is lower than this time last year by about a dime per gallon. Marquette has the lowest prices in the state at $2.42, while Traverse City and Grand Rapids have the state’s highest prices at $2.54. Locally, the average in Benton Harbor and St. Joseph is up 9¢ to $2.47. Our average price is down 13¢ from year-ago levels. The auto club says demand for gasoline nationwide is continuing to rise due to summer, and that’s starting to eat into the supply glut of gasoline. GasBuddy puts the average in South Haven at $2.42 a gallon.
