One Arrested For Stealing Copper Wire From AEP Property

One man is facing charges following the theft of some copper wire from an American Electric Power facility in Berrien County. The sheriff’s department tells us the thefts occurred over the past several months, resulting in multiple reports to police. The sheriff’s department says it set up a surveillance detail outside the Lake Township AEP property this week. In the early morning hours of Monday, deputies they busted a 46-year-old Dowagiac man stealing copper wire from the site. He’s now charged with resisting arrest, larceny, possession of burglary tools, breaking and entering, possession of stolen property, and larceny from yards.
