Now that we’ve changed our clocks for the season, many people will be driving home from work in the dark. That’s why AAA of Michigan wants drivers to be extra alert. Spokesperson Susan Hiltz tells WSJM News 3 in 10 drivers report having driven when they were so tired they had a hard time keeping their eyes open in the past 30 days. She says now is a time to use common sense

“Keep your vehicle windows clean and clear, obey the speed limit, use your headlights and signals, and yield for pedestrians,” Hiltz said. “Be on the lookout for them.”

Hiltz says pedestrians also need to be extra careful, wearing bright clothing and paying attention. She tells us to remember to turn on the headlights, and put the phones away when behind the wheel.
