Michigan State Police at the Paw Paw post could use a little spiritual guidance. Lieutenant Dale Hinz tells us the post is looking for a chaplain. The chaplain is a volunteer member of clergy who helps state police in a variety of ways.

“They will help us with comforting victims, especially in times of need or tragedy where we have notifications related to car crashes or homicides, things of that nature,” Hinz said.

A state police chaplain must be an active ordained member of the clergy with five years in full-time ministry, and also willing to work with people of all religions. The MSP chaplains are given extensive training and often accompany troopers. Any holy men or women interested in learning more can contact the Paw Paw post.
