Michigan Attorney General Bill Schuette is again putting out a reminder to young people about his office’s OK2SAY tip line. AG spokesperson Andrea Bitely tells WSJM News the service has received more than 11,000 tips since 2014. It’s designed specifically so youngsters will feel OK about reporting troubling situations in their schools.

“It’s confidential, which means that if you report anything to our program, then we won’t necessarily reveal your identity, and that makes kids really feel better about reporting,” Bitely said.

Bitely tells us tips about bullying, suicidal thoughts, and school violence have come through the tip line. It’s something students should know following this week’s massacre at a high school in Florida.

“It’s a reminder to Michigan school children as well as teachers and parents and principals and superintendent, this program is out there,” Bitely said.

All tips received by the OK2Say service are confidential and referred on to the appropriate officials when they come through. You can reach it by texting something to OK2Say or e-mailing OK2SAY@MI.gov. The website is OK2SAY.com.
