Lawmakers Hope To Address Road Funding Soon

Michigan lawmakers are set to focus on the governor’s proposed spending of additional road funding. House Speaker Tom Leonard spoke to Michigan News Network Monday and said he wants to speed-up the process:

“That $175 million is there,” Leonard said. “If we can spent it appropriately, I’d like to get that money out this budget cycle versus the next budget cycle. I want to get that money spent this summer.”

The Lansing-area Republican wants the process completed quickly and responsibly. He says he hopes to get it done in the days ahead.
