The Michigan Department of Transportation is planning some work for US-31 in Berrien County. MDOT spokesperson Nick Schirripa spoke with WSJM News about the project.
“We’re going to be doing some concrete joint sealing on US-31 both northbound and southbound between M-139 in Berrien Springs up to Napier Avenue in Benton Harbor,” Schirripa said.
Schirripa tells us the joint sealing helps extend the life of the road by preparing it for contraction and expansion due to weather. The work starts on US-31 Friday, and will continue through May 25. Schirripa says the work will mean single lane closures both north and southbound.
