State Representative Beth Griffin of Mattawan is backing legislation to remove an outdated law from the books in Michigan.

Griffin tells WSJM News her bill would repeal a 1931 law which references the sentencing guidelines for committing a false protest in regards to losses on a boat.

Griffin tells us modern insurance fraud laws now supersede that old law. She testified before the House Oversight Committee in support of the plan this week, and tells us it’s good to take an opportunity to throw out an old regulation.
