Downtown Bridgman will be a livelier place this summer thanks to a new series of events organized by the city and local merchants. Bridgman City Manager Juan Ganum tells WSJM News this past Friday brought the first of four Bridgman Family Friday Fests. The events are inspired by the winter Holiday Village festivities.

“We decided that we should continue doing something similar over the summer,” Ganum said. “The idea was born and evolved over several meetings.”

Ganum tells us they had a weeny roast, activities for the kids, food and drinks, and sand sculpting. This informal series of summer events will continue to evolve.

“We’re going to listen to all of the comments and we’re going to regroup and have a debrief meeting in the next week or so to talk about how we’re going to change the next one,” Ganum said.

Ganum estimates a few hundred people came to the downtown area Friday for the fun. The plan is to hold a Bridgman Family Friday Fest on the final Friday of each month through the end of August. Anyone who has input is welcome to contact Bridgman City Hall.
