The Hartford Strawberry Festival is here. Each summer, the community celebrates its strawberry growers with the event, which is one of the first community-wide summer celebrations to be held. Festival Secretary Patty Schroeder tells WSJM News there will be lots of strawberries to sample and buy.
“The Hartford Public Library will be selling strawberry shortcake, and also don’t miss the big parade at noon on Saturday as well,” Schroeder said. “We have a good lineup this year.”
Everything kicks off at 6 p.m. Friday with the kiddy parade, and then the crowning of the strawberry royalty. Other key events are the strawberry pie eating contest, rides, games, a magician, and live music. You can find a full list of the festival events right here.
