Ironman is coming to Michigan. The triathlon will be held in Traverse City in 2019 and 2020. Traverse City City Commissioner Michele Howard told Michigan News Network this week she is excited. She’s competed in a couple of Ironman races, the last one four years ago in Syracuse.
“Probably my proudest moment was to cross that finish line, and my husband was there and my friends were competing,” Howard said. “It’s one of those bucket list things. You’re like, ‘Someday, I’d like to do an Ironman,’ and I was even looking at where to do my next one and I never imaged it would be in my hometown.”
Howard says she better start exercising to compete in the Ironman in Traverse City next year. She also thinks it’ll be great for tourism.
