Cornerstone Alliance is the recipient of a Morton House Preservation Award for its work to renovate its new downtown Benton Harbor headquarters. Cornerstone President Rob Cleveland tells WSJM News the organization did nearly $1 million in work last year at 80 West Main, and more could be coming.

“We completely renovated the bottom floor and included new, modern office space,” Cleveland said. “We still have two floors above us, a second and third flood, that we are looking at potentially redeveloping. They would be ideal for residential units.”

Cleveland said it’s an honor to get the award from Morton House. The Morton House Board’s Chuck Jager says such downtown projects help keep communities vibrant. Also receiving Preservation Awards were Ken Ankli’s Sheffield Building and Jay Fettig’s North Shore Inn and North Pier Brewing.
