The Four Winds Casino has donated 1,200 food baskets to those in need for this Thanksgiving. Casino Vice President of Government Affairs Scott Brewer tells WSJM News the employees asked the casino to purchase the items, and then they packed them up and sent them out Tuesday.
“We usually team up with Feeding America and look at different places,” Brewer said. “For instance, there are some that go to Benton Harbor through Children and Family Services, there’s a food bank out of Decatur, there’s a church with a food bank in Marcellus.”
Brewer tells us the baskets each have a 12 pound turkey, potatoes, green vegetables, cranberry sauce, and a pumpkin cake. This is the fourth year Four Winds has handed out Thanksgiving food baskets. They also do it for Christmas. Brewer says it feels wonderful to have an impact on those in need.
