It’s normally not an envelope people enjoy getting: a summons for jury duty. However, officials in Van Buren County are doing what they can to make it a little easier with a new online system. You can watch an orientation video and sign up for reminders via text, email, and calls for when you need to report. According to a study, most “failure to appear” cases are the result of people simply forgetting they had to serve jury duty or losing the mail. The first full day of jury duty brings a $30 payment, and pay is $45 per day for every full day afterward along with mileage.
