Berrien County police officers will be honored next week in St. Joseph. Wednesday brings the annual Peace Officers Memorial Day Service at the Berrien County Law Enforcement Officer’s Monument along the bluff. The event is hosted by the Fraternal Order of Police Blossomland Lodge. 20 police officers who made the ultimate sacrifice while protecting the peace will be honored. Among them will be Berrien County Court Security Supervisor Joseph Zangaro and Berrien County Trial Court Officer Ronald Kienzle, who were killed in the line of duty at the courthouse on July 11, 2016. The memorial service will be next Wednesday, May 15, at noon.
