LECO Corporation of St. Joseph has donated 50 acres of industrial property in Lake Township to Cornerstone Alliance so the land can be redeveloped. Cornerstone COO Greg Vaughn tells WSJM News the empty parcel is at the intersection of Lemon Creek Road and Gast Road just north of Bridgman.

“There’s a foundation from a previous factory that was there 15 to 20 years ago, but other than that it’s vacant land,” Vaughn said.

Vaughn says the selling point for the property is its access to transportation networks.

“It’s located adjacent to rail, which is really a rarity in our community, as far as having a parcel for industrial development that has rail access.”

Therefore, Vaughn says the property is prime for development. Cornerstone Alliance is already working with the Bridgman and Lake Township communities and their Growth Alliance to find an occupant. The donation was announced at this week’s meeting of the Berrien County Land Bank
