A list of charges is pending against a Covert man who was arrested Wednesday night after leading a Van Buren County deputy on a high-speed chase in Geneva Township on what turned out to be a stolen motorcycle. The deputy stopped giving chase due to the speed and the reckless behavior of the 29-year-old suspect, and the man drove the motorcycle into a field at 56th Street and 18th Avenue right after. The deputy chased him on foot and made the arrest, with the suspect admitting he was high on meth and ecstasy. The bike had been reported stolen in Allegan County last year. Along with resisting and obstructing, the man is expected to be charged with fleeing and eluding police, possession of a stolen motorcycle, and operating under the influence of drugs. He also had a traffic warrant out of Kalamazoo County.
