Lakeshore Public Schools Superintendent Phil Freeman has received a positive performance evaluation from the board of education and a three year contract extension. At a meeting this week, the board rated Freeman as “highly effective.” Now in his sixth year with the district, Freeman tells WSJM News it’s the staff and other support that help him do his job.

“The success that I’ve had here at Lakeshore is due in large part to the motivated leadership we have here,” Freeman said. “We have some great young leaders in each of our buildings, and we have a dedicated instructional staff and support staff, and of course we have wonderful students as well.”

Freeman says the support of the community for the school district also makes his job a pleasure. The school board approved a 2.5% raise for him, which Freeman says is in line with the salary increases teachers are getting. He’s now signed on to serve the district through June 30 of 2022.
