A suburban Detroit mother is facing some stiff penalties following her drunk driving arrest last month. Milford police have released the dash cam video of her arrest after crashing her car into a ditch at Fort Dearborn with her two young sons in the backseat of the car, and not properly restrained. While the sobriety test of the woman couldn’t be seen in the video due to an ambulance being in front of the police car, the audio was crystal clear with an arresting officer telling her to blow as hard as she could into the Breathalyzer. After the reading, the officer was amazed.

“Well golly gee willikers, that’s a lot,” she said. “You’re point-306. You’re about four times the legal limit. Turn around, you’re under arrest for operating while intoxicated.” As the officer made that order, the woman cried out “no, I’m not!” while in tears. She also pleaded with the officer to not let her children see her be arrested.

How much would someone need to consume to have a .306 blood alcohol level? Mothers Against Drunk Driving sent WSJM News information from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration showing that for a 160-pound woman, she would have to down at least 10 alcoholic beverages within an hour. The data is based off one drink equaling either 1.5 ounces of 80-proof liquor, 12 ounces of beer, or five ounces of wine. The woman is charged with drunk driving and child endangerment, and her name has not been released.
