JUDAS PRIEST have announced that they will perform at next year’s Wacken Open Air festival, set to take place July 30, 2020 – August 1, 2020 in Wacken, Germany. That show will be part of Judas Priest’s 50th-anniversary tour expected to launch next spring/summer.

Bassist Ian Hill is the sole remaining original member of Judas Priest. Rob Halford joined Judas Priest in 1973 and Glenn Tipton signed on in 1974. Halford left the band in the early 1990s to form his own band, then returned in 2003. Founding guitarist K.K. Downing parted ways with the band in 2011, and was replaced by Richie Faulkner. Tipton bowed out a month before the start of the band’s “Firepower” tour, due to the worsening of his Parkinson’s disease, first diagnosed five years ago. His spot in the band is being filled by “Firepower” album producer Andy Sneap. Downing said last October that all of Judas Priest’s living former and current members should be involved in the group’s upcoming 50th-anniversary celebration.
