A new partnership between Kinexus Group in Benton Harbor and Irish firm Upskill Enterprise will be launched next month to help local employers better keep track of the skills of their workers. Kinexus Director of Innovation Duane Berger tells WSJM News Upskill has software called TalentSensus to create an inventory of local talent.

“It tracks people,” Berger said. “What their skills are, not only work, but even some of their hobbies and things they enjoy doing. So it tracks the skill sets of all people so you can do comparisons with maybe a job and what skills are needed in a job and thus help identify with the gaps.”

Berger says, previously, the only way companies could have a detailed inventory of individual skills and the need for training would be to have a custom system, which would be expensive. He says the new partnership with Upskill Enterprise will give local businesses an inexpensive way to track that information. He adds it could help workers by guiding them to new training. The partnership with Upskill Enterprise begins on October 1.
