A team of scientists from Allegan-based Perrigo is going to attempt a world record this coming weekend. The drug maker says they’re constructing the world’s largest periodic table to inspire kids to pursue the science, technology, engineering, and math fields. The event is also in honor of the 150th anniversary of the periodic table. The big periodic table reveal will be 108 yards and will fill the football field at Grand Valley State University. All 118 elements are 18 by 14 feet. The record breaking periodic table will be unveiled on Saturday at the Kelly Family Sports Center at Grand Valley State University’s Allendale Campus. The event will be open to the public. Guinness Book of World Records officials will be in attendance.
