Lecture Series Coming To St. Joseph

Coming to the Maud Preston Palenske Memorial Library in St. Joseph this winter will be an award winning lecture series put on by Calvin University. From January 8 through January 28, the library will be one of 60 remote webcast locations worldwide to broadcast Calvin’s January Series. A few of the notable names in the 2020 lineup will include journalist Ann Compton, columnist Mitch Albom, and author Jonathan Haidt. The 15 speakers slated to be part of the January Series will discuss issues that include poverty and hunger, the global water crisis, immigration, mass incarceration, religious freedom, and big data. The January Series lectures will be video streamed live at Maud Preston Palenske Memorial Library from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. Mondays through Fridays. The lectures will be free and open to the public. Everyone is invited to stop by and listen in.
