Set for this month at the Michigan Maritime Museum in South Haven is a lecture about the St. Joseph North Pier Lighthouses. The museum’s Ashley Deming tells WSJM News they’ll have Heritage Museum and Cultural Center Community Engagement Coordinator Kate Ulrey lead the presentation.

“She’s going to come up here to South Haven at the Michigan Maritime Museum and give us a presentation, tell us a lot about the history of the lighthouses, and what’s going on there today,” Deming said.

The St. Joseph harbor has had a light since 1832, making it the second oldest site for a light on Lake Michigan. Deming notes the St. Joseph lighthouse presentation is in keeping with the current theme of the Michigan Maritime Museum’s lecture series, which is Shipwrecks and Lighthouses. The engagement will be held at the museum in South Haven on Wednesday, February 19th starting at 6:30 p.m. Tickets for adults will be $8.
