The Benton Harbor City Clerk’s office will be open this weekend to accommodate voters ahead of next week’s primary election. Clerk Kimberly Thompson says staff will be at Benton Harbor City Hall this Saturday from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. to help people vote absentee and also to do same day registrations. Anyone who wants to get either of those things done before Tuesday’s primary is welcome to stop by and do so. For those old school voters who still want to cast their ballot the old fashioned way, polling locations will be open on Tuesday from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. Local clerks and the Michigan Secretary of State are advising those who want to learn the results of the presidential primary not to hold their breath. It’s expected the results will not be known until the early morning of Wednesday due to the volume of absentee ballots that election staff will have to count.
