St. Joseph Charter Township is closing its Township Hall starting at 5 p.m. on Monday, March 16. The following is the statement released by the township this morning:

 

In order to ensure the safety of our employees and our residents and prevent spreading of the highly contagious COVID-19 virus, St. Joseph Charter Township Hall will be closed to the public as of 5:00 p.m. Monday, March 16th and will remain closed through March 31st.   Township officials will continue to reassess risk as further information is released from the governor and the CDC.

 

During this shutdown, Township employees will continue to report to work.   Telephone lines and email will be available for residents to communicate with Township staff and Police and Fire services will continue as usual.

 

A drop box is available to the left of the front entrance of the Township Hall for the convenience of our residents and will be checked frequently during this period of office closure.  While the office is closed, if you need to apply for a permit see the information below:

Applications can be obtained here or on the website sjct.org.

For the online application > click departments > building department > and the type of application needed

 

Turning in and payment for permit applications can be done by:

Mailing in with payment

Emailing application and calling in using a credit card (3% fee added)

Dropping off in the drop box with the exact amount (call 269-429-7703 for exact BP fee)

 

Review and issuance of the permit will be completed as normal and a copy will be mailed to you.
