More donations of personal protective equipment are coming in to the state’s healthcare facilities. Governor Whitmer says Amway has “really stepped up to help Kent County families and health care workers during this time.” Amway employees have distributed nearly 28,000 units of hand sanitizer to hospitals, clinics, senior care facilities and more around west Michigan as of April 9. The company is also working to get disinfectant wipes for hospitals and to distribute secure hygiene kits for those who are homeless in Kent County. Whitmer adds Amway is also planning to fly in a “steady stream” of N95 masks to the state over the next several weeks. She adds she’s eager to work with them and “every other business that wants to contribute their time and machinery” to helping Michigan fight coronavirus.
