Beaumont Health in the Detroit area is launching a new study using tens of thousands of people to test for the antibodies of COVID-19 to see if those can help develop a treatment. One of the 38,000 test subjects is a lab manager from the hospital system only identified by ABC News as Tyler, who was sick in February with what he now believes was COVID-19. He got word this week that he had tested positive for coronavirus antibodies

“It’s kind of like a little bit of a weight that got lifted because there are so many people that are getting affected by this that it’s just nice to know that i somehow got through it without too much issue,” he told ABC.

Even those who have antibodies are being told to continue safe behavior and social distancing until more is learned about when these antibodies appear and whether they actually convey immunity.
