Employees will take less time off this summer because of COVID-19, according to a study by the firm Robert Half. Senior Regional Vice President in Detroit Trisha Plovie told Michigan News Network this week about their findings.

“37% of people are saying that they are going to save their vacation time for later in the year in hopes of being able to travel and actually take a vacation versus a staycation,” Plovie said. “And then there are 28% of the people that we surveyed that will actually take fewer days off compared to last summer because their work load is greater due to reduced staff levels.”

Plovie suggests you take a cue from your boss about taking time off. She says if your boss is recommending vacation time be used now so it doesn’t pile up at the end of the year, take that advice.
