The Veggie Van is coming back to southwest Michigan. Spectrum Health Lakeland spokesperson Jessica Springer tells WSJM News  it’s a mobile farmer’s market that gives away locally-produced vegetables and fruits.

“The goal of this program is to ensure that fruit and vegetables are available to people who otherwise may have limited access to this type of fresh produce,” Springer said.

Springer says it’s all free.

“Anyone who wants to drive up and get some free healthy food, we have 300 bags that we’re going to give out.”

The Veggie Van will be at the Coloma Medical Center on Paw Paw Avenue on  Tuesday from noon to 4 p.m. Springer says this will be drive through service only because of COVID-19.
