Heather Locklear Placed On Psychiatric Hold After Mental Breakdown

Heather Locklear was placed on another psychiatric hold after suffering a mental breakdown at her Los Angeles home. The former “Melrose Place” star was admitted to the hospital on Nov. 19 after her therapist and lawyer determined that she needed help, according to reports from TMZ. Other reports had surfaced that Locklear had assaulted her boyfriend before EMTs arrived, but sources told TMZ that her boyfriend has not been to the home in a few days. Locklear’s hospitalization is the latest incident in a series of mental health and substance abuse struggles; she was previously arrested for battery on a police officer and emergency personnel before being hospitalized from an apparent overdose in June. Actress Paz De La Huerta Sues Harvey Weinstein For Assault And Sexual Battery

Actress Paz de la Huerta filed a $60 million lawsuit against Harvey Weinstein, seeking damages for alleged assault, sexual battery and emotional distress. The “Boardwalk Empire” actress publicly accused Weinstein of raping her twice in 2010 in New York City and sexually assaulting her a year later in Los Angeles. After the Manhattan district attorney’s office declined to press charges in December, de la Huerta is suing Weinstein in California superior court. De la Huerta claims in the suit that Weinstein’s actions have caused her “physical injury, severe emotional distress, humiliation, embarrassment, mental and emotional distress and anxiety.” The actress also claims that Weinstein derailed her career after she refused his advances during the third incident in Los Angeles. YouTube star Lilly Singh announced she is taking a break from her popular YouTube channel.  Singh — known to her fans as “Superwoman” — announced in a video on Monday that she’ll be taking a hiatus from the video platform, saying she’s not at her “optimal happiness” and could be “mentally healthier.”  She told her viewers that she’s been making videos for 8 years, and added “I am mentally, physically, emotionally and spiritually exhausted. I think there’s a lot going on up here that I need to address that I’m not able to, constantly pumping out content.” She also added that she hasn’t been happy with “a lot of the content I’ve created” adding, “I’ve always said that happiness is the most important thing that you will ever fight for. Sandra Bullock Donates $100,000 To Help Save Animals From California Fires

Actress Sandra Bullock has made a $100,000 donation to The Humane Society of Ventura County, which is helping the animals affected by the wildfires in Southern California. The organization wrote on Facebook: “Our efforts for rescuing and caring for evacuated animals from the Hill and Woolsey fires had caught her attention and her team reached out to the shelter to show their supporT. Sandra Bullock and her family have reached out to other nonprofit organizations both during this incident and in the past. Stan Lee, Legendary Co-Creator Of Marvel Comics, Dies At Age 95

Stan Lee, a legend who created many of the popular Marvel characters, has died at age 95. Lee died early Monday morning at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles. He was born Stanley Martin Lieber on Dec. 28, 1922, in New York City. Lee got a job at Timely Comics as an assistant at age 17, and was with the company for near six decades before Timely Comics became Atlas Comics and then Marvel Comics. Lee created or co-created Black Panther, Spider-Man, X-Men, The Mighty Thor, Iron Man, The Fantastic Four, The Incredible Hulk, Daredevil, Ant-Man and other characters. Actress Tamera Mowry-Housley and her husband, former Fox News correspondent Adam Housley, searched for information about their niece, Alaina Housley, after a mass shooting took place in Southern California on Wednesday night. Yesterday the couple announced through their representative that they learned she was among the victims. In a joint statement on Thursday, they said: “Our hearts are broken. We just learned that our niece Alaina was one of the victims of last night’s shooting at Borderline bar in Thousand Oaks. Alaina was an incredible young woman with so much life ahead of her and we are devastated that her life was cut short in this manner. We thank everyone for your prayers and ask for privacy at this time.” Alaina Housley, an 18-year-old Pepperdine freshman, was at Thousand Oaks’ Borderline Bar & Grill when a gunman opened fire in the early hours Thursday morning. Lovato’s stay in rehab had been expected to extend for several months, according to sources. The next chapter of HBO’s “Game of Thrones” will star Naomi Watts. The pilot for the network’s prequel has cast Watts to star in the project, from creators Jane Goldman and George R.R. Martin. According to HBO, Watts will play “a charismatic socialite hiding a dark secret in the drama pilot.” The pilot (and hopefully potential series) will be set thousands of years before the events seen in the current series, and chronicle the world’s “descent from the golden Age of Heroes into its darkest hour,” according to a description of the show. A Wrinkle in Time and 13th director Ava DuVernay is partnering with Netflix for a feature-length documentary on the late musical icon Prince. The documentary will chronicle Prince’s entire life and career. DuVernay tweeted about the project, saying “Prince was a genius, a joy, and a jolt to the senses. He was like no other. He shattered preconceived notions, smashed boundaries, and shared his heart through his music. The only way I know how to make this film is with love and great care. I’m honored to do so and grateful.” DuVernay has been working on the project for several months and she has the full cooperation of Prince’s estate. FOX Announces Cast For Live Musical Production Of ‘Rent’

Fox has announced the lineup for its live musical version of Rent.  Vanessa Hudgens, who starred as Rizzo in Fox’s Grease Live, will play Maureen Johnson, a performance artist protesting a real estate development plan to evict the homeless. Maureen’s girlfriend, Joanne, will be played by Kiersey Clemons. Michael Bublé Appears On ‘Carpool Karaoke’ With James Corden For An Important Cause

Michael Bublé appeared with “Late Late Show” host James Corden for a worthwhile cause.  Bublé’s appearance on “Carpool Karaoke” was part of the “Stand Up To Cancer” telethon that aired in the United Kingdom on Friday. Bublé opened up to Corden about his son’s cancer battle, and the mood turned somber after when speaking about Bublé’s now 5-year-old son Noah, who was diagnosed with liver cancer in 2016 at the age of three. ‘Halloween’ Tops The North American Box Office For Second Weekend

Halloween, the new direct sequel to the 1978 original and starring Jamie Lee Curtis reprising her iconic role of Laurie Strode, remained the No. 1 movie in North America for a second weekend, earning an additional $32 million in ticket sales. Multiple Sources Say Megyn Kelly Is Out At NBC’s ‘Today’ Show After Blackface Scandal

According to multiple reports, Megyn Kelly Today will been canceled and Kelly herself let go from NBC. After Kelly was widely criticized on Tuesday after she defending using blackface in Halloween costumes on her show, she made a tearful on-air apology on Wednesday. However a source with knowledge of the situation at NBC says it looks very likely the show will not be continuing, though an official decision has not been made. Kelly’s future at NBC is still up in the air. Kelly announced she was leaving Fox News for NBC last January, singing a multi-million, 3-year deal with the network that included her hosting her own daytime news program, anchoring a Sunday evening news show and taking part in special political programming and other breaking news coverage. Megyn Kelly Gives On-Air Apology For Blackface Comments

NBC News host Megyn Kelly delivered her first on-air apology Wednesday, admitting she was wrong for her comments which defended the use of blackface during Halloween. During a round table segment on her show “Megyn Kelly TODAY” on Tuesday, Kelly ignited controversy after she asked panelists “what is racist” about white people wearing blackface as part of their Halloween costume. Backlash was swift on social media, which overwhelmingly deemed her comments inappropriate and offensive. In her show’s opening on Wednesday, Kelly said:  “I want to begin with two words: ‘I’m sorry. I defended the idea [of blackface] saying as long as it was ‘respectful’ and part of a Halloween costume it seemed ok. Writer/Producer Ryan Murphy Reveals His 4-Year-Old Son’s Cancer Battle And $10 Million Donation

Ryan Murphy revealed on Instagram that his son, Ford Murphy, has been battling cancer for the past two years. Today, Murphy said, his son is “thriving.” Murphy shared the post to commemorate the anniversary of Ford’s diagnosis. Ford, who is now four, was diagnosed with a neuroblastoma when he was two years old. Along with a photo of Ford riding a pony, Murphy wrote: “Two years ago, this sweet little innocent boy with a deep belly laugh and an obsession with Monster Trucks was diagnosed with neuroblastoma…an often fatal pediatric cancer.” In honor of his son, Murphy added that he and his family, including husband David Miller, would be donating $10 million to Children’s Hospital Los Angeles. Netflix Cancels Marvel Show “Luke Cage” After Two Seasons

Just days after cancelling Iron Fist, Netflix has also cancelled Luke Cage, cutting the Marvel universe in half. Marvel and Netflix announced, “Unfortunately, Marvel’s Luke Cage will not return for a third season. Actress Selma Blair Reveals She Was Diagnosed With Multiple Sclerosis

In an Instagram post, actress Selma Blair announced that she has been diagnosed with multiple sclerosis. Blair revealed she was diagnosed in August, and is facing the effects of the disease everyday. Blair, 46, said she’s had symptoms for years, and thanked her producers at her new Netflix show for being understanding. She said she hopes “to give some hope to others. And even to myself,” and encourage people to ask for help when they need it. Blair posted on her Instagram, “I am disabled. I fall sometimes. I drop things. My memory is foggy. And my left side is asking for directions from a broken gps. But we are doing it. As a way to support former NFL quarterback Colin Kaepernick and the movement he started, comedian and actress Amy Schumer announced on Instagram that she would not appear in Super Bowl ads this year. “I personally told my reps I wouldn’t do a Super Bowl commercial this year,” Schumer wrote. Schumer, who appeared in a Bud Light Super Bowl ad two years ago, also called on white NFL players to kneel during the national anthem in support. “Orange Is the New Black” will be ending after it’s upcoming seventh season on Netflix. The cast of the series broke the news in a video post on Wednesday. The critically-acclaimed show initially followed the inmates of Litchfield Minimum Security Prison, with season six seeing many of the main cast move to the Maximum Security facility often mentioned in the series.
