Kensington Palace announced that The Duchess of Sussex has been bestowed with a coat of arms, days after her royal wedding to Prince Harry. The coat of arms was designed by the College of Arms and approved by Britain’s Queen Elizabeth, and is emblazoned with personal touches like the golden poppies from her home state, California, and wintersweet, which grows at her new residence, Kensington Palace. The blue background of the shield itself signifies the Pacific Ocean off the California coast, while the two golden rays across the shield are symbolic of the Golden State. In a statement, Kensington Palace said: “It is customary for Supporters of the shield to be assigned to Members of the Royal Family, and for wives of Members of the Royal Family to have one of their husband’s Supporters and one relating to themselves. Harvey Weinstein plans to turn himself in to New York City law enforcement on Friday morning. The Manhattan District Attorney’s Office has been conducting a criminal probe into accusations against the disgraced former Hollywood producer. Dozens of women began coming forward late last year with stories about the alleged sexual abuse and harassment they sustained at his hands. After exposes were published in The New York Times and The New Yorker, New York Times and New Yorker reporters Jodi Kantor, Megan Twohey and Ronan Farrow received the Pulitzer Prize for public service earlier this year for their effort to expose a culture of abuse in Hollywood. Their work is also credited with inspiring the #MeToo and Time’s Up movements against sexual misconduct. On Thursday, CNN published an investigation into a number of allegations of sexual harassment and “inappropriate behavior” against Oscar-winning actor Morgan Freeman. The 80-year-old actor has had a long career that includes films like Driving Miss Daisy, The Shawshank Redemption, Million Dollar Baby, and the Dark Knight trilogy, and is also the co-founder of Revelations Entertainment, a production company that the report alleges fostered a “toxic work environment” for female staffers. According to CNN, neither Freeman nor his spokesperson has yet responded to multiple requests for comment. Idris Elba will star, direct and produce a modern retelling of The Hunchback of Notre Dame for the streaming service Netflix, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Based on a script by Michael Mitnick, the film is being described as “sonic and musical experience” and will feature an original score. “Veep” star Julia Louis-Dreyfus is set to receive the Mark Twain Prize for American Humor at the Kennedy Center this fall. Louis-Dreyfus is the 2018 recipient of the prestigious award. Last year, David Letterman received the award, and comedy luminaries such as Bill Murray, Eddie Murphy, Tina Fey have won the award in past years. Louis-Dreyfus wrote on Twitter that the honor is “insanely exciting.” The President of the Kennedy Center, Deborah F. The New York Police Department is investigating allegations of sexual misconduct leveled against celebrity chef Mario Batali, confirming a 60 Minutes television report that aired this weekend. Batali “vehemently” denied the new allegations in a statement to CBS, which airs the program. An NYPD public information officer said in an email on Monday the department was investigating the allegations, however they did not respond to a question about whether the 2005 incident was too old to face prosecution. Batali, who owns numerous restaurants, is accused of drugging and sexually assaulting an employee at one of his restaurants in 2005 in the new criminal investigation, according to the report. Batali was fired in December 2017 by ABC as co-host of The Chew, a daytime food and talk show, and also stepped away from his restaurant company after the accusations by the four women first surfaced.. ...Read Full Story

The new film “Show Dogs” stars Will Arnett and Ludacris, who is the voice of a talking police dog named Max who has to infiltrate a prestigious dog show, is causing concern among parents for a subplot which involves Max becoming comfortable with strangers touching his genitals. In the PG-rated film, Max must learn how to perform well as a show dog, which includes behaving during the “inspection” of his genitals by the show judges. Critics have likened that plot line to sexual predators “grooming” children to become comfortable with inappropriate touching. The filmmakers responded to the concerns with a statement: “It has come to our attention that there have been online discussion and concern about a particular scene in Show Dogs, a family comedy that is rated PG. The dog show judging in this film is depicted completely accurately as done at shows around the world; and was performed by professional and highly respected dog show judges. Kensington Palace released three official wedding photographs taken of Prince Harry and the former Meghan Markle shortly after their wedding this past weekend. Photographer Alexi Lubomirski’s images include a family portrait of the couple with Queen Elizabeth II, Prince Charles, Prince William and their spouses, as well as Markle’s mother, Doria Ragland, and the children who served as bridesmaids and page boys.  A second image shows the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, as they now are known, just with the children. The newlyweds also posed for a less formal black and white photo. Netflix confirmed a deal with President Barack Obama and his wife, Michelle Obama on Monday, two months after rumors first started swirling that the former first couple was interested in producing content for the streaming service. Netflix tweeted that “President Barack Obama and Michelle Obama have entered into a multi-year agreement to produce films and series for Netflix, potentially including scripted series, unscripted series, docu-series, documentaries, and features” through their new entity Higher Ground Productions.  Former President Obama said in a statement: “One of the simple joys of our time in public service was getting to meet so many fascinating people from all walks of life, and to help them share their experiences with a wider audience. Meghan Markle and Prince Harry were officially married on Saturday, May 19 after exchanging their vows in front of the world at St. George’s Chapel, Windsor Castle.  The Royal Wedding 2018 has attracted huge global interest, with people tuning in from as far afield as Australia, New Zealand and Canada. In the UK, over 18 million people watched the big day yesterday across a number of channels. CBS released the first trailer for the revival of the long-running hit comedy “Murphy Brown.” The trailer shows Candice Bergen as award-winning journalist Murphy Brown tackling the “state of cable news, clickbait, and a very different political and cultural climate.” Bergen’s character says. “The problem was I didn’t know what to do with myself – and then we had an election.” Original cast members Faith Ford, Joe Regalbuto, and Grant Shaud will reprise their roles as Corky Sherwood, Frank Fontana and Miles Silverberg. Marvel superhero creator Stan Lee has filed a lawsuit seeking more than $1 billion in damages from POW! Entertainment, the company he co-founded. In a suit filed in Los Angeles Superior Court, 95-year-old Lee alleged that POW! fraudulently forged his signature on legal documents and stole his identity. According to the lawsuit, POW! CEO Shane Duffy and co-founder Gill Champion are alleged to have “conspired and agreed to broker a sham deal to sell POW! to a company in China and fraudulently steal Stan Lee’s identity, name, image, and likeness.” Lee, who co-created super-heroes including the X-Men, the Avengers and the Black Panther, formed POW! (standing for “Purveyors of Wonder”) in 2001 with Champion and Arthur Lieberman. Freeform has picked up a 10-episode spin-off of the popular teen drama Pretty Little Liars. Pretty Little Liars: The Perfectionist is another book series by the same PLL author Sara Shepard. The show is about two girls from Beacon Heights, a town know for its mysteries, who become the prime suspect in a murder they did not commit. Pretty Little Liars: The Perfectionist will focus on new faces of the PLL universe — Sofia Carson from Disney Channel’s Descendants, Sydney Park from the Walking Dead and newcomer Eli Brown will all become part of the main cast. The show is created by I. Marlene King, who was the the same creator for the original series. After CBS acknowledged a “workplace concern” involving Pauley Perrette of the crime drama “NCIS”, it prompted a response from the actress on Tuesday. Perrette had earlier posted a series of cryptic tweets saying she had endured “multiple physical assaults” and suggested that may have contributed to her departure from the show. “It’s horrifying,” she wrote. “I left.” CBS Television Studios issued a statement late Tuesday confirming that “over a year ago” Perrette ― who played forensic scientist Abby Sciuto on “NCIS” for 15 seasons before her final episode aired last week ― “came to us with a workplace concern. We took the matter seriously and worked with her to find a resolution. A man who broke into Rihanna’s Hollywood Hills home and spent 12 hours there has been charged with stalking the singer, who was not at home at the time. According to Los Angeles County prosecutors, 26-year-old Eduardo Leon of Fullerton was charged Monday with felony counts of stalking, burglary and vandalism, and a misdemeanor count of resisting arrest. Leon has not entered a plea and it’s unclear if he has an attorney. Leon is accused of climbing over a fence and breaking into the house on May 9. A day after Clayne Crawford was officially replaced on “Lethal Weapon” due to allegations of misconduct on set, former co-star Damon Wayans leveled new accusations against the actor. In a series of tweets, Wayans shared a video of himself being hit in the back of the head by a piece of shrapnel and the subsequent injury from an episode of the show, that Crawford had directed. Wayans, who plays Murtaugh on the show, also posted a sticker calling Crawford an “emotional terrorist” and claimed that he “hit another actor in the mouth with a bottle of green tea and busted his mouth open.” Crawford, who played Martin Riggs, was fired last week after being accused of misconduct on set. Kensington Palace released a statement following a report that Meghan Markle’s father, Thomas Markle, would not be attending her upcoming royal wedding on Monday. Markle and Prince Harry are due to wed at Windsor Castle’s St. George’s Chapel on Saturday, May 19. “This is a deeply personal moment for Ms. Markle in the days before her wedding,” the Kensington Palace statement reads. “She and Prince Harry ask again for understanding and respect to be extended to Mr. Markle in this difficult situation.” Markle’s father was expected to walk his daughter down the aisle during the Saturday ceremony. He is divorced from Markle’s mother, Doria Ragland, who also is planning on traveling with her daughter to the wedding. Margot Kidder, who found fame as Lois Lane in the 1978 film “Superman,” died Sunday at her home in Montana. She was 69 years old. According to her manager, the actress died peacefully in her sleep. Kidder starred opposite Christopher Reeve’s Superman in the original film as well as the three sequels. Born in the Northwest Territories of Canada, she made her professional acting debut on the TV series “Wojeck” in 1969. After moving to Los Angeles she took roles on TV shows including “McQueen” and “Mod Squad.” Kidder also starred in “The Amityville Horror” in 1979 and worked steadily in television and on stage. Kidder was married three times, and after facing thousands of dollars in medical bills, she found herself homeless in 1996 as she struggled with bipolar disorder. Avengers: Infinity War opened in China this weekend, and with that release the film currently stands as the fifth biggest international release of all time. Disney said Sunday that the Marvel superhero film is estimated to now be up to $1.6 billion in sales following a $200 million opening weekend in China. In the US, the film has earned another $61.8 million in its third weekend in theaters. Infinity War has passed 2012’s The Avengers, Furious 7, and Avengers: Age of Ultron. The movie brings together the stars of nearly every Marvel movie released over the past 10 years, including Robert Downey Jr.’s Iron Man, Chris Evans’ Captain America, Chris Pratt’s Star-Lord, Scarlett Johansson’s Black Widow and many others against mad titan Thanos. One day after the show was canceled by Fox, NBC has rescued the popular sitcom “Brooklyn Nine-Nine.” The series received a 13-episode sixth season order from NBC. “Ever since we sold this show to Fox I’ve regretted letting it get away, and it’s high time it came back to its rightful home,” said Robert Greenblatt, chairman of NBC Entertainment. Fashion designer Georgina Chapman has spoken publicly for the first time about the scandal surrounding her ex-husband Harvey Weinstein. Chapman spoke in the June issue of American Vogue about how she never suspected Weinstein of the multiple sexual assaults of which he has been accused.  “Absolutely not. Never,” she replied, when asked if she had suspicions, adding that she has “never been one of those people who obsesses about where someone is.” She said: “I had what I thought was a very happy marriage. Annette Bening is joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The four-time Oscar nominee has signed on for a role in Captain Marvel. Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck are directing the film, which is set in the 1990s and will see the return of Marvel characters like Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson), Phil Coulson (Clark Gregg), and Ronan the Accuser (Lee Pace). Brie Larson is headlining the film as the titular hero, a.k.a. Carol Danvers, an Air Force pilot who gains superpowers after being exposed to alien DNA.  Captain Marvel marks Bening’s first superhero movie. Taylor Swift kicked off her Reputation stadium tour on Tuesday, May 8 — and the setlist includes 24 of her biggest hits. Swift performed 14 songs from her acclaimed 2017 album, Reputation, in addition to her previous singles and fan favorites. Camila Cabello and Charli XCX opened for Swift as they played for a sold-out crowd of 59,157 fans at the University of Phoenix Stadium in Glendale, Arizona. The Sherlock Holmes franchise is back as Warner Bros. announced that Sherlock Holmes 3 will be released on Christmas Day; December 25, 2020. Robert Downey Jr. will return as Holmes, alongside Jude Law, who stars as Sherlock’s famous sidekick, Dr. Watson. Guy Ritchie directed the first two films in the Warners franchise, but no director is currently attached for Part 3. The script comes from Chris Brancato, writer for critically acclaimed series Narcos and Hannibal. Sherlock will have some pretty stiff competition at the Christmas box office in 2020. Transparent is moving forward without star Jeffrey Tambor, but this will be it’s last season.  Amazon’s original series will conclude with the upcoming fifth and final season, according to creator Jill Soloway. A few months after sexual assault allegations against Tambor and his subsequent dismissal from the series, Soloway admitted to finally feeling “a tiny bit like we are going to be okay.”  Transparent premiered in 2014 and won the Golden Globe for Best Television Series – Comedy or Musical in 2015, while Tambor won a Golden Globe and two Emmys for his portrayal of transgender matriarch Maura Pfefferman. The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge released two new photos of their new son, Prince Louis, on Sunday. The first official photos were taken by Princess Kate at the home of her and Prince William in Kensington Palace. Prince Louis Arthur Charles first official snapshot was taken on April 26, just three days after he was born. The second photo, taken on Princess Charlotte’s third birthday on May 2, shows the older sister planting a gentle kiss on her baby brother’s forehead.  “The Duke and Duchess would like to thank members of the public for their kind messages following the birth of Prince Louis, and for Princess Charlotte’s third birthday,” Kensington Palace tweeted on Sunday.  In the photo, Princess Charlotte is pictured in a blue and white cardigan worn by Prince George in a family portrait for the Queen’s 90^th birthday in April 2016, and Prince Louis’ white outfit was also previously worn by his sister in a portrait taken after she was born. Former Law & Order actress Diane Neal is seeking a new role– as representative of a congressional district in upstate New York. Neal, 42, appeared on the original L&O, once the longest-running crime drama on American primetime. From 2001-2012, she played Assistant District Attorney Casey Novak on Law & Order: SVU, now in its 19th season. The film will be based on the animated series of the same name. It will follow a teenage version of Dora, as she goes on an adventure with her best friend, a monkey named Boots, and her cousin Diego. Moner recently starred in “Transformers: The Last Knight” with Mark Wahlberg and Anthony Hopkins. She also previously voiced the character Kate in the 2014 animated spinoff “Dora and Friends: Into the City!” and was the lead in Nickelodeon comedy series “100 Things to Do Before High School.” The original animdated “Dora the Explorer” series premiered on Nickelodeon in 2000, featuring Dora as a 7-year-old Latina who travels the world. Netflix will debut a re-cut edition of Arrested Development season 4 that at last puts the fragmented story in chronological order. Arrested Development creator Mitchell Hurwitz heard the complaints of fans about season 4 and promised a re-cut version that would put the episodes in chronological order. Mariah Carey announced on Monday that she would return to The Colosseum at Caesars Palace for a new residency, “The Butterfly Returns,” beginning in July and extending through September. The Colosseum was home to Carey’s previous Vegas show, “Mariah #1 to Infinity,” which lasted from 2015-2017. The announcement comes on the heels of Carey sharing her struggle with bipolar disorder. Nickelodeon announced that the classic 1980s and ’90s game show Double Dare is set to return to the network this summer with 40 new episodes. Originally running from 1986 to 1993, Double Dare pits two teams of kids against each other in trivia, physical challenges, and the series’ unforgettable obstacle course. It also made use of the network’s signature green slime. Those components and some past contestants will return, though original host Marc Summers will not be back.  It is expected that a new emcee is expected to be named soon. In 1988, the original Double Dare moved to Fox for a season before returning to Nickelodeon. It’s the biggest opening of all time, smashing the record previously held by Star Wars: The Force Awakens, which opened in 2015 with almost $248 million. The family of electronic dance musician Avicii has released a second statement about their late son this week, saying the famed DJ “could not go on any longer” and that “he wanted to find peace.” Avicii, born Tim Bergling, was found dead last week in Muscat, Oman at age 28. Details about his death were not revealed. “Our beloved Tim was a seeker, a fragile artistic soul searching for answers to existential questions. An over-achieving perfectionist who travelled and worked hard at a pace that led to extreme stress,” read the statement, released Thursday. Avicii had in the past suffered acute pancreatitis, in part due to excessive drinking. After having his gallbladder and appendix removed in 2014, he canceled a series of shows in attempt to recover. A Montgomery County jury of seven men and five women returned guilty verdicts regarding the January 2004 sexual assault of Andrea Constand. The jurors spent nearly 15 hours over two days deciding the verdict after being charged Monday morning. Victims of Cosby sitting in the courtroom shrieked and cried in delight after the first verdict was announced. Cosby stared straight ahead as the verdict was read, but moments later lashed out loudly at District Attorney Kevin Steele and called him an “a–hole” after the prosecutor asked that Cosby be immediately jailed because he might flee. Cosby denied he has an airplane and shouted, “I’m sick of him!” The judge decided Cosby can remain free on bail while he awaits sentencing. No sentencing date was set, but state law requires it within 100 days of a conviction. Cosby, 80, could face up to 30 years in prison — 10 years for each count. Actress Priyanka Chopra confirmed that she will attend Meghan Markle’s wedding to Prince Harry. The 2018 Billboard Music Awards will feature a special performance from South Korean boy band BTS. Billboard announced in a news release Tuesday that the K-pop group will perform a new single at the awards show May 20 in Las Vegas. The event will mark BTS’ first performance at the Billboard Music Awards. The family of the late Prince are suing Trinity Medical Center in Illinois, the hospital that treated the singer for an opioid overdose in April 2016 before his fatal overdose a week later.  They are also suing the pharmacy chain Walgreens. According to court papers, Prince’s family claims that the singer received improper medical care after his private plane made an emergency landing in Moline, Illinois, on April 15, 2016. The suit claims that the hospital “failed to timely and appropriately diagnose and treat opiate overdose; failed to provide timely and appropriate counseling for opiate overdose; and failed to timely and appropriately investigate the cause of opiate overdose,” which was a “direct and proximate cause” of Prince’s death on April 21, 2016.  The family also claims in the suit that Walgreens stores in Minnesota dispensed prescription medication to Prince “not valid for a legitimate medical purpose” and also “failed to conduct appropriate drug utilization review.” Prince was found dead in an elevator at his Paisley Park estate in Chanhassen, Minnesota. Prince William and Princess Kate debuted the newest member of Britain’s royal family, as they gave the world a first look at their newborn son outside the London hospital where Kate gave birth on Monday.  Kate, 36, wearing a red dress, held her third child as she exited St. Mary’s Hospital alongside William. Kate delivered the baby, weighing 8 pounds, 7 ounces, at 11:01 a.m. according to Kensington Palace.  William, 35, was present for the baby’s birth at St. Mary’s Hospital; he departed the hospital a few hours after the baby’s birth was announced, and later returned with his two other children: Prince George, 4, and Princess Charlotte, who turns 3 on May 2. . ...Read Full Story

In an Instagram post, Johnson wrote, “Blessed and proud to bring another strong girl into this world. Verne Troyer, who played Mini-Me in two of the Austin Powers comedy films, has died at the age of 49, according to statements posted to his social media accounts. Troyer was 49. A statement posted to his social media said “Verne was an extremely caring individual. He wanted to make everyone smile, be happy, and laugh,” “Anybody in need, he would help to any extent possible. Verne hoped he made a positive change with the platform he had and worked towards spreading that message every day.”  No cause of death was immediately released. Troyer, who was reportedly 2 feet, 8 inches tall, was in 58 movies and television shows. “Smallville” actress Allison Mack pleaded not guilty to sex trafficking and conspiracy to commit forced labor charges as part of an alleged sex cult in a federal court in New York. Mack, 35, appeared before a judge in the federal court in Brooklyn. After entering her plea the judge refused a request by her lawyers to release her without bail. A bail hearing will be held Monday. Also during the court appearance, it was revealed Mack married “Battlestar Galactica” star Nicki Clyne, who was also rumored to be part of NXIVM. Clyne and Mack were spotted in Mexico when cult leader Keith Raniere was hunted down by police and arrested at a $10,000-a-week villa they were reportedly hiding out last month.  Raniere, the co-founder of the self-help organization and alleged cult NXIVM, is accused of keeping numerous women as slaves and branding his initials into their skin. Josh Groban and Sara Bareilles have been named hosts of the 72nd annual Tony Awards, which will air live from Radio City Music Hall in New York City on June 10. The event marks the performers’ first time hosting the awards ceremony. Groban and Bareilles are no strangers to Broadway. Bareilles starred in Waitress, which she also composed the music and lyrics for, and received her first Tony Award nomination for her performance. Homeland actress Claire Danes and husband Hugh Dancy are expecting their second child.  Danes revealed the news during an interview with Howard Stern “I am pregnant. I’m seriously preggo … I’m deep into my second trimester.”  When asked if the pregnancy was a surprise or planned, Danes replied that she and Dancy were trying to get pregnant. “Yeah, this was planned,” she said. “We’ve been wanting another kid for a while, and it happened.” Despite revealing this personal news, Danes says she is keeping the baby’s sex a secret. A Colorado man who was wearing a mask and had a knife in his car when he was arrested outside a Beverly Hills home owned by Taylor Swift was released from custody on Tuesday while police continued their investigation. Julius Sandrock, 38, was arrested Saturday on suspicion of stalking after officers went to the home. Swift, who lives in New York, wasn’t at the home, police said. Sandrock was freed from jail on Tuesday morning, according to a Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department website. Harry Anderson, an actor and magician featured on the TV shows Night Court, Dave’s World and Cheers died Monday morning at age 65. Police in Asheville, N.C., say officers responded to a call at Anderson’s home and found him deceased. No foul play is suspected in his death. A Rhode Island native, Anderson gained fame as a stand-up comic, appearing on Saturday Night Live before he was cast on Cheers. His best-known role was playing Judge Harry T. Stone on the sitcom Night Court, which aired nine seasons on NBC from 1984 to 1992. The Associated Press said Anderson left Hollywood and resurfaced as the owner of a New Orleans magic shop, and after Hurricane Katrina in 2005, he moved to Asheville.

NBC’s “This Is Us” won best drama series, Fox’s sitcom “Brooklyn Nine-Nine” won best comedy and Sony’s transgender drama “A Fantastic Woman” won the award for best film in limited release.  Special honors also went to pop star Britney Spears, who was presented the Vanguard Award by Ricky Martin; and “The Big Bang Theory” star Jim Parsons, who was presented GLAAD’s Stephen F. Dwayne Johnson’s arcade game-inspired Rampage crept past last week’s top film A Quiet Place to take the No. 1 spot on the box-office charts. Studios estimate that Rampage has grossed $34.5 million in its first weekend in theaters. In a very close second was the modestly budgeted John Krasinski thriller A Quiet Place with $32.6 million. In just two weeks, the word-of-mouth sensation is now just shy of $100 million in grosses from North American theaters.
