The 90th Annual Academy Awards took place Sunday at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles, and “The Shape of Water” and “Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri” both had big nights.  The first award of the night went to Sam Rockwell for best supporting actor for his role in “Three Billboards.”  Later in the evening, “Three Billboard’s” Frances McDormand won for best actress, and used her speech to promote gender equality. Allison Janney won the best supporting actress Oscar for her role in “I, Tonya” and joked in her speech, “I did it all by myself.” Gary Oldman won best actor for his portrayal of Winston Churchill in “Darkest Hour.”  The big award of the evening, for best picture, went to “The Shape of Water.” It was the second award for Guillermo del Toro, who also won for best director.   See highlights and the full list of winners in the linked article below.. ...Read Full Story

David Ogden Stiers, an actor best known for playing a surgeon on the “M.A.S.H.” television series, has died. He was 75. The actor’s agent Mitchell Stubbs confirmed Saturday night in an email that Stiers died after battling bladder cancer. No additional details were provided, but Stubbs’ agency tweeted that Stiers died at his home in Newport, Oregon, on Saturday.  Stiers played Maj. Charles Winchester III on “M.A.S.H.” beginning in its sixth season. He also did voice acting in several Disney animated films, voicing the character Cogsworth in “Beauty and the Beast” and played characters in “Lilo & Stitch” and “Pocahontas.” Stiers received two Emmy nominations for his work on M.A.S.H.  In 2009, the actor revealed publicly that he was gay. Chip and Joanna Gaines have a new series coming to HGTV. Called Fixer Upper: Behind the Design, the half-hour-long project will give fans a peek behind the stars’ design process as they execute overhauls. The first of the 15 episodes will air on Tuesday, April 10 at 8 p.m. ET/PT. Police rushed to the home of Tori Spelling in Los Angeles after a 911 caller reported that the celebrity was having a “nervous breakdown.” Officers were called to Spelling’s home on Thursday morning, March 1st, after an anonymous call was made at around 7:00 reported that Spelling was behaving in a “very aggressive” way, according to TMZ. While she reportedly didn’t have any weapons, she was agitated enough for someone in the house to call 911.  Spelling is also said to have dialed 911 the night before because she thought someone was breaking into her home, but it just turned out to be her husband, Dean McDermott, coming home. An anonymous industry source claimed to have witnessed E!’s Ryan Seacrest acting inappropriately toward his former stylist in an interview with Today on Wednesday.  Former stylist Suzie Hardy has accused Seacrest of sexually harassing and assaulting her over the six years that she was employed by the network from 2007-13, including grabbing her crotch multiple times. On the Today show, the unnamed source corroborated Hardy’s account.  Seacrest, 43, has staunchly denied Hardy’s allegations, and his network is standing by him as he’s set to host E!’s Oscars coverage Sunday. Seacrest has accused Hardy of attempting to blackmail him; however Hardy’s attorney, Howard E. Fuller House creator and show runner Jeff Franklin has been fired, and will no longer be a part of the Netflix sitcom. His firing follows reported complaints about his behavior in the writers’ room. Franklin, who created Full House and it’s sequel Fuller House, has been accused of being verbally abusive and making inappropriate statements in the writers’ room and on set, according to Variety. As a result of the allegations, Warner Bros. TV, which produces the series, has declined to renew the veteran TV writer’s production deal.  A Netflix spokesperson said, “Fuller House will return for a fourth season, as planned. Steve Martin and Martin Short are coming to Netflix. The comedy legends announced a new special for the streaming service, which will be called “Steve Martin and Martin Short: An Evening You Will Forget For The Rest Of Your Life.”  The special will launch globally on Netflix later this year. The Walt Disney Company is celebrating the enormous success of Black Panther by donating $1 million to the Boys & Girls Clubs of America, according to a news release. The donation is meant to further develop the organization’s youth STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) programs. “Marvel Studios’ Black Panther is a masterpiece of movie making and has become an instant cultural phenomenon, sparking discussion, inspiring people young and old, and breaking down age-old industry myths,” Disney CEO Bob Iger said in a statement. “It is thrilling to see how inspired young audiences were by the spectacular technology in the film, so it’s fitting that we show our appreciation by helping advance STEM programs for youth, especially in underserved areas of the country, to give them the knowledge and tools to build the future they want.” The Boys & Girls Club will use the money to fund STEM centers at “12 communities across the country,” as per the release, Marvel’s Black Panther has earned $700 million in the worldwide box office, after two weeks of release.. ...Read Full Story

Kevin Smith revealed on Twitter late Sunday night that he had suffered a “massive heart attack.” The Clerks director also shared a photo of himself in the hospital. Smith was scheduled to appear at an early and late show Sunday at Glendale, California’s Alex Theatre, when he fell ill between shows. In a follow-up Facebook post, Smith elaborated on the situation: “I was trying to do a killer standup special this evening but I might’ve gone too far.”  Smith was in good spirits following his traumatic medical ordeal, adding that he’s likely facing some lifestyle changes (and weighing going vegan) following the heart attack, but added: “The point of this post is to tell you that I faced my greatest fear tonight… and it wasn’t as bad as I’ve always imagined it’d be,” the director wrote. “I don’t want my life to end but if it ends, I can’t complain. Heather Locklear was taken into custody over the weekend following a domestic violence incident at her home in Thousand Oaks, California. She was arrested for battery on a police officer and taken to a medical center before being transferred to Ventura County Jail.  The 56-year-old former ‘Melrose Place’ star was handcuffed and taken to a hospital on Sunday, 2/25 for psychiatric evaluation after her brother called 911 following his witnessing a fight between her and her boyfriend at their home. When officers arrived, Locklear allegedly hit three deputies and was charged with three counts of battery.  Back In 2008, Locklear was arrested for DUI, and in 2011 domestic violence allegations were charged against her by then-boyfriend and ‘Melrose Place’ co-star Jack Wagner. Locklear was previously married twice: to Mötley Crüe drummer Tommy Lee, and Bon Jovi guitarist Richie Sambora. Sridevi, one of India’s most famous actresses, has died at age 54. She was known only by a single name, and was described as the first female superstar in the Bollywood industry. Sridevi died on Saturday in Dubai after suffering a heart attack, her brother-in-law Sanjay Kapoor told the Indian Express. Her most famous roles included playing a reporter in Mr India and in Chandni, when she played a woman choosing between two suitors. Born Shree Amma Yanger Ayyapan, she started in the industry at the age of four and worked throughout her childhood, playing her first adult Bollywood role at the age of 13. She won five Filmfare Awards, and was nominated 10 times in the Indian equivalent to the Oscars. She stopped acting after her second marriage to Boney Kapoor, but made a well-received comeback in 2012 with English Vinglish, about a woman learning English. Black Panther is now directly behind 2015’s Star Wars: The Force Awakens for the second-highest grossing second weekend in box office history. The Marvel movie has now earned $400 million in only 10 days domestically with an additional $304 million internationally. This weekend’s earnings saw only a 46% decline over the opening weekend and has beat out 2015’s Jurassic World and 2012’s The Avengers for the second-highest second weekend, which has exceeded expectations. Brendan Fraser is coming forward with allegations of sexual assault by an ex-president of the Hollywood Foreign Press Association. In a new interview with GQ, Fraser alleges that the HFPA’s Philip Berk assaulted him at the Beverly Hills Hotel in the summer of 2003. Fraser, through his reps, asked the HFPA for an apology, which Berk says he wrote, but added “My apology admitted no wrongdoing, the usual ‘If I’ve done anything that upset Mr. Fraser, it was not intended and I apologize.’” Berk took a six-month leave of absence from the HFPA in April 2014, following backlash from his memoir, but is still a member. He denied the claim in an e-mail to GQ, saying “Mr. Fraser’s version is a total fabrication.” The HFPA did not respond to Variety’s request for comment. The actor said that the incident made him reclusive and he retreated from public life. He was rarely invited back to the Golden Globes, which the HFPA runs, and he feels as though he was blacklisted as a result. He also believes it’s partly why his career derailed, and said “The phone does stop ringing in your career, and you start asking yourself why. There’s many reasons, but was this one of them? MTV announced Thursday that comedian TIffany Haddish will host this summer’s 2018 MTV Movie & TV Awards. Last year, MTV expanded the ceremony — formerly known as the MTV Movie Awards  — to recognize television and did away with gender-based category divisions.  Haddish, who had a breakout year in 2017, is making her mark on movies and TV.  The actress had a star turn in last year’s hit film “Girls Trip,” as well as previously appearing in the critically acclaimed NBC series “The Carmichael Show.” In addition to the hosting gig, Haddish will be starring opposite Tracy Morgan in the TBS sitcom “The Last OG” and alongside Kevin Hart in Universal’s “Night School.” The 2018 MTV Movie & TV Awards airs at 9 p.m. Pacific on June 18. Oprah Winfrey, along with Steven Spielberg and his Kate Capshaw, are the newest celebrities to pledge donations to the March for Our Lives goal of new gun reform laws. On Monday, George and Amal Clooney announced that they would donate $500,000 to the March for Our Lives, an event happening on March 24 in the wake of the Parkland shootings in Florida last week. Following their announcement, Winfrey tweeted out her support and pledged a sizable donation of her own in support. After canceling a number of shows last week, Wendy Williams announced on-air that she would be taking three weeks off to focus on her health. The host was diagnosed with Graves’ disease, a condition in which the thyroid overproduces hormones resulting in anxiety, hand tremor, heat sensitivity, weight loss, puffy eyes, and and enlarged thyroid. “My doctor has prescribed … are you ready? As of today, three weeks of vacation,” Williams told her audience on the show.  It’s not known if this diagnoses has anything to do with the fall she took back in October after fainting on air. Shortly after the stumble, her publicist said that Williams was “dehydrated and is on her way home for a good day and night of sleep. George and Amal Clooney announced on Tuesday a $500,000 donation to the “March for Our Lives” demonstration organized by the Florida school shooting survivors, to take place next month. The couple made the donation in the name of their 8-month-old twins, Ella and Alexander.  They said their family will be attending the “March for Our Lives” on March 24. Serena Williams gave birth to her daughter Alexis Olympia Ohanian Jr. in September. Now Williams, 36, gives a first-person account of the complications she faced during and after childbirth in an opinion piece for CNN published on Tuesday. “I almost died after giving birth to my daughter, Olympia,” the piece begins. Williams writes that her daughter was born by emergency C-section when the baby’s hear rate dropped dramatically during contractions. Just 24 hours after the surgery, Williams suffered a pulmonary embolism, a condition where one or more arteries in the lungs become blocked by a blood clot. The latest trailer for Steven Spielberg’s upcoming sci-fi spectacular Ready Player One is all about the nostalgia and throwback pop culture references, starting with the choice of music. Amy Schumer married chef Chris Fischer in a secret ceremony on Tuesday after just a few months of dating. Girls creator and actress Lena Dunham has revealed that, following a brutal years-long battle with endometriosis, she underwent a total hysterectomy in 2017. Dunham shared the revelation in a personal essay, titled “The Painful Truth,” from the upcoming March issue of Vogue.  Excerpts reveal that Dunham’s decision to have her cervix and uterus removed came after “years of complex surgeries measuring in the double digits” failed to alleviate her chronic pain. In the essay, Dunham also discusses her hopes to someday start a family, suggesting that adoption or using a surrogate is her plan. In April 2017, Dunham underwent surgery to remove her ovaries from her rectal wall. A former “Charles in Charge” actor says Scott Baio assaulted and “mentally tortured” him during their time together on the show in the 1980s. Alexander Polinsky made the allegations Wednesday in Los Angeles during a news conference. Polinsky says Baio exposed himself, talked about gay sex acts with the young actor and once threw a hot cup of tea in his face. Another former “Charles in Charge” co-star, Nicole Eggert, came forward last month with claims that Baio sexually assaulted her when she was a minor while they worked together on the hit show. Baio called those allegations false, saying he and Eggert were involved in a consensual relationship when she was of legal age. When Netflix released a teaser trailer over Super Bowl weekend that just featured a bunch of tambourines being played, no one was really sure what it was all about — but it seems we now have an answer. Chris Rock‘s first Netflix stand-up special is making it’s debut on Valentine’s Day. The special is called Tamborine, and the comedian posted the same video that debuted over a week ago, but this time with his name and the title of the special appearing at the end along with the release date. It’s been 10 years since Rock debuted a new stand-up special, his last one being Kill the Messsenger from HBO in 2008. Tamborine was filmed at New York’s Brooklyn Academy of Music, directed by fellow stand-up comedian Bo Burnham. It’s the first of two new specials that Chris Rock will be doing for the streaming service. Model Danielle Herrington has become the third black woman to grace the cover of the coveted 2018 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit issue. In a video released by the magazine, former SI swimsuit cover model Tyra Banks was the one to break the news to Herrington.  Herrington made her debut in the magazine in 2017. SI Swimsuit editor MJ Day said in a statement, “Last year, Danielle was a rookie, and yet already an exemplary model. Following months of trouble between former “Sex and the City” co-stars Kim Cattrall and Sarah Jessica Parker, Cattrall let everyone know this weekend that Parker was definitely “not her friend.”  After Cattrall announced Feb. 4 that her brother Christopher Cattrall was found dead in Canada, Parker seemed to reach out with a compassionate note on Cattrall’s Instagram post, writing: “Dearest Kim, my love and condolences to you and yours and Godspeed to your beloved brother. Xx.” Cattrall, 61, shot back on Saturday, telling Parker via another Instagram post that she was never her friend. Comedian Amy Schumer has a new boyfriend: celebrated chef Chris Fischer, whose Martha’s Vineyard restaurant is a favorite of former President Obama and his family. Schumer and Fischer made their relationship Instagram official on Sunday, when Schumer shared a black-and-white photo of the couple at Ellen DeGeneres’ 60th birthday party. “Happy Birthday @theellenshow thank you for having us,” she captioned the post. Schumer and Fischer were rumored to be dating as far back as early November 2017 when they were spotted together in New York City. Fifty Shades Freed, Universal’s finale to the franchise, dominated the competition in North America as it opened top on $38.8m despite scoring the lowest debut of the series. Justin Timberlake earned his fourth No. 1 ranking album this week as Man of the Woods debuted at the top of the Billboard 200 chart. The bulk of Timberlake’s number came from traditional sales—not streaming. 242,000 of his total came from traditional album sales, in addition to 14,000 track equivalent albums and 37,000 streaming equivalent albums. Of the traditional albums sold, 139,000 were digital albums, 89,000 were CDs, and 15,000 were vinyl LPs. Timberlake’s last album, The 20/20 Experience (2 of 2), debuted at the top of the chart with 350,000 traditional album sales. Kate Upton, who had previously Tweeted #MeToo in regard to Guess co-founder Paul Marciano, has detailed her allegations to Time, saying the fashion head assaulted and harassed her and called her a “fat pig.” Upton claims that Marciano asked to meet her while she was shooting a Guess Lingerie campaign in 2010. “Paul came straight up to me, forcibly grabbed my breasts… despite doing everything I could physically do to avoid his touch throughout the meeting, he continued to touch me in a very dominating and aggressive way.” Marciano has called the allegations “absolutely false” and “preposterous.” “I have never been alone with Kate Upton,” he told Time. “I have never touched her inappropriately. Actor Mickey Jones died early Wednesday morning at the age of 76, as confirmed by his representative. The character actor was best known for recurring roles on Justified and Home Improvement. Jones was born in Houston, Texas, and started off as a professional drummer before leaving high school. His biggest music gig was as Bob Dylan‘s drummer before the singer went on hiatus in 1967 following a motorcycle accident. In over 20 years as a musician, Jones was part of more than a dozen Gold records. Jones began acting in the mid-’70s and got his first recurring role in 1980 on the Alice spinoff series Flo. He continued doing guest spots and worked consistently over the rest of his life with his best known roles being Pete Bilker of K&B Construction on 13 episode of Home Improvement and as Rodney “Hot Rod” Durham in the second and third seasons of Justified. YouTube star Kian Lawley will not appear in the upcoming adaptation of bestselling young adult novel “The Hate U Give” after a video of Lawley making racist statements began making rounds online. “Due to the controversy surrounding his past comments and behavior, Kian Lawley will no longer appear in ‘The Hate U Give,'” a spokesperson for Twentieth Century Fox Films said in a statement. Lawley was cast in “The Hate U Give,” based on the Angela Thomas novel, late last year.  An undated video of Lawley making racist remarks was uploaded late last month and drew enough attention to prompt a response from Lawley two days ago, before he was let go from the film. The Spice Girls are getting back together for a U.S. reunion tour, according to a TMZ report. The famous 90s girl band posted a photo on Instagram that caused speculation of a reunion. Sources say that all of the original Spice Girls recently met with former manager Simon Fuller in order to work on “rough planning” for a world tour that would hopefully happen later this year.  Sources also say the tour will begin in the U.K. and eventually make its way to the U.S., but there are no plans to record any new music as part of this reunion. Quentin Tarantino is directly addressing the claims made about him by Uma Thurman in a recent interview she did with The New York Times. Tarantino admitted that he regrets her terrifying car accident on the set of Kill Bill. He also explained his decision to spit on her and choke her for scenes in Kill Bill—revelations that were met with backlash on social media, painting Tarantino as someone who liked to torture his leading ladies. Tarantino also spoke about his shock after finding out Harvey Weinstein had sexually harassed both Thurman and actress Mira Sorvino, who was Tarantino’s girlfriend at the time. ABC series Once Upon a Time is set to conclude its run following its current season. Series co-creator Adam Horowitz took to his Twitter account to announce the news. The show premiered in 2011 and has remained on the network for seven seasons, with new episodes set to air until its finale. The premise of the series, childhood fantasy characters transplanted into the real-world by the curse of an evil Queen, intrigued millions of viewers with the first season of “OUAT” experiencing major success after its pilot was viewed by almost 13 million viewers. For this current season an entirely new cast was brought in following most of the original cast departing the series, including it’s leads, Jennifer Morrison, Ginnifer Goodwin and Josh Dallas. Actor John Mahoney died Sunday at age 77, according to reports. Born in Blackpool, England, in 1940, Mahoney became best known for his role as Martin Crane in NBC’s Frasier, though he didn’t kick-start his acting career until later in life.  Mahoney quit his job and started taking acting classes and soon got his first role in David Mamet’s Water Engine in 1977. Four years after pursuing acting, John Malkovich encouraged him to join Chicago’s legendary Steppenwolf Theatre. In 1993, the actor accepted the role of Martin Crane in NBC’s sitcom Frasier. Mahoney received two Emmy nominations and two Golden Globe nominations for this role. He remained a regular until Frasier‘s end in 2004. Lady Gaga has revealed that she is canceling the remain dates on her current Joanne tour. The singer broke the news on Instagram that she is “suffering from severe pain” and, as a result, has to cancel the final ten dates of the Joanne tour, which was due to culminate in Europe. “Unfortunately, Lady Gaga is suffering from severe pain that has materially impacted her ability to perform live.” The Instagram post further explained, “Last night, with strong support from her medical team, Lady Gaga made the tough decision to immediately come off the road. Justin Timberlake hit the Super Bowl LII Halftime Show stage on Sunday, and in true Timberlake fashion he performed a medley of his greatest hits with energy, showing off his moves with a revolving door of dancers, and dedicating a piano ballad to the late singer Prince with video footage of The Purple One playing over him. He sang the Minnesota native’s 1984 hit “I Will Die 4 U” alongside a hologram of the singer, who passed away in 2016. The entire city of Minneapolis was also entirely lit up in purple. Backup dancers held up mirrors reflecting light during Timberlake’s single “Mirror,” which then turned rainbow during “Can’t Stop the Feeling.” Timberlake finished the set by running into stands, encouraging the crowd to sing and clap.  The performance marked the first time Timberlake took to the Super Bowl stage alone. After months of speculation, Kylie Jenner announced that she gave birth to a baby girl on February 1 at 4:43 p.m. She weighed 8 pounds, 9 ounces. She and her boyfriend, rapper Travis Scott, kept the pregnancy private, and while it was all but confirmed, today’s announcement is the only official comment Jenner has made. Jenner confirmed the news in an Instagram post Sunday. “I’m sorry for keeping you in the dark through all the assumptions,” Jenner wrote. “I understand you’re used to me bringing you along on all my journeys. My pregnancy was one I chose not to do in front of the world.”  She continued: “My beautiful and healthy baby girl arrived February 1st and I just couldn’t wait to share this blessing. Republic Records Group President Charlie Walk is no longer a judge on Fox’s singing competition show The Four: Battle for Stardom and will not be part of next week’s finale. “Out of respect for the contestants, my fellow judges and everyone involved with the show, I have made the decision not to attend the finale of The Four,” Walk said in a statement provided by his attorney Patricia Glaser. Republic Records also confirmed that they have opened an investigation. “Republic Records is committed to a safe workplace environment where employees are treated fairly and respectfully,” the statement read. Walk’s former Sony colleague Tristan Coopersmith accused the music mogul of sexual misconduct in an open letter on Monday, January 29, alleging that he sent her explicit text messages, groped her at business dinners and made unwelcome advances toward her. Los Angeles County Sheriff’s investigators say Robert Wagner is “more of a person of interest” in the death of his late wife, actress Natalie Wood, who died nearly 40 years ago under mysterious circumstances. Wood was found dead in the water in 1981, near Santa Catalina Island off the coast of California. She had gone on a yachting weekend with Wagner, as well as Christopher Walken, who at the time was starring with the actress in the movie “Brainstorm.” Wood’s death was originally ruled an accident, but the case was reopened in 2011. The coroner changed her cause of death to “drowning and other undetermined factors” the following year. An autopsy report indicated there were a number of bruises on Wood’s body that appeared to have been fresh at the time of death. Investigators said Wagner — who was married to Wood twice, first from 1957 to 1962, and again from 1972 until her death — has been uncooperative since they reopened the case.  “I think he’s constantly changed his story a little bit. Downton Abbey creator Julian Fellowes is returning to television with the period drama, The Gilded Age, which has been picked up to series by NBC and is slated for a 2019 debut. The network has ordered 10 episodes. Fellowes is re-teaming with Downton Abbey executive producer Gareth Neame for the series, which takes place in the glittering world of the wealthiest families in 19th-century New York. Three months after production was shut down in the wake of sexual assault and harassment allegations against star Kevin Spacey, “House of Cards” has resumed production on its sixth and final season, according to an official release from Netflix. Netflix also announced Wednesday that Oscar-nominated actors Greg Kinnear and Diane Lane have joined the cast, which will now focus on it’s star Robin Wright. The final season will feature eight episodes, and it is reported that Kinnear and Lane will play siblings. “House of Cards,” launched in 2013 and has received 53 Emmy nods over the years, with seven wins. Tom Hanks is set to play Mr. Rogers in a biopic film about the children’s show host. TriStar pictures announced it has acquired the worldwide rights to the film Monday. It’s chosen Hanks to play Fred Rogers in the biopic, and filmmaker Marielle Helle will be the film’s director. The film, called “You Are My Friend,” is expected to focus of the friendship between Mr. Rogers and journalist Tom Juno who wrote a profile on Rogers that he said “transformed” his perspective on life. Glee alum Mark Salling died Tuesday from an apparent suicide at the age of 35. Salling’s death by suicide was confirmed by the Los Angeles Police Department. The actor’s body was found near a riverbed in the Sunland-Turjunga neighborhood of Los Angeles, the area where he lived. “I can confirm that Mark Salling passed away early this morning” his attorney, Michael Proctor said. Salling was awaiting sentencing after he pleaded guilty to possession of child pornography in October. He faced four to seven years in prison as part of a plea bargain. He pleaded guilty to “one felony count of possession of child pornography involving a prepubescent minor” and also faced 20 years of supervised release, $50,000 in restitution pay to each of his victims and to register as a sex offender. Actress Nicole Eggert has accused her former “Charles in Charge” costar, Scott Baio, of molesting her when she was underage. Baio responded by accusing Eggert of making up claims about him. The controversy began over the weekend when Eggert, 46, called Baio a “creep” on Twitter, tweeting to another user to ask him “what happened in his garage at his house when I was a minor. Another tweet from the “Baywatch” actress, which has since been deleted, alleged that Baio began behaving inappropriately when she was 14.  Baio, 57, himself tweeted that Eggert’s allegations are “100% lies,” before elaborating in a 16-minute Facebook Live video on Saturday. Omarosa Manigault, who left the White House at the tail end of last year, is set to enter the Celebrity Big Brother house. Omarosa, memorable from her appearances on NBC’s The Apprentice and one of President Donald Trump’s most prominent African-American supporters, joined the Trump administration as the director of communications for the Office of Public Liaison. She officially left her post on Jan. 20. In late December, she exited the White House and rumors flew that she was fired by W.H. chief of staff John Kelly. The show will premiere on Feb. 7 and will run until Feb. 25. The first two-hour live eviction where one of the cast members will get voted out of the house will air on Feb. 9. Jeremy Piven, who has previously denied allegations of sexual misconduct from at least three women, is facing further accusations that date back decades, an online news site reported Saturday. Three additional women claim Piven acted in a physically aggressive or threatening manner, BuzzFeed News reported in a story that included the actor’s rejection of the allegations as “false.” The women said they were speaking out because of frustration over Piven’s previous denials. One incident allegedly involved a high school student working as an extra in 1985 on Piven’s first film, “Lucas,” when he was 17. The 61-year-old illusionist took to social media on Wednesday just hours before a report surfaced that alleged he drugged and sexually assaulted a former teenage model 30 years ago. He also praised #MeToo, a social movement fighting back against sexual assault and misconduct, as “crucial and long overdue,” but he also cautioned against false accusations of sexual assault. In 2007, Copperfield was publicly accused of having lured a former beauty pageant model to his private island in the Bahamas and sexually assaulting her. The FBI investigated the claim for two years but ultimately dropped the case. CBS announced on January 24 that Murphy Brown, the sitcom that ran from 1988 to 1998, will return to the network with new episodes. Candice Bergen, who starred as television journalist Murphy Brown, will reprise her role to lead the revival. CBS has ordered 13 episodes of the series, set to debut in the 2018-2019 season. Original creator Diane English, who left the original show after season 4, will also return as writer/executive producer.  Murphy Brown received 62 Emmy nominations and won 18 , five that went to Bergen for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy.  In 1996, she withdrew from the Emmys race, declining further nominations for that role to make room for other actresses.. ...Read Full Story

Joel Taylor, who starred on Discovery Channel’s Storm Chasers, has died at the age of 38. Taylor’s death was confirmed by a number of friends on social media Tuesday. The cause of death has not been disclosed, but TMZ is reporting that there is speculation that Taylor may have died from a suspected overdose on a cruise ship.  Taylor joined Storm Chasers, a documentary reality series about researchers who follow storms in Tornado Alley, in 2008. Elton John announced during a special live-streamed event Wednesday that he will be retiring from touring, following an upcoming 300-date farewell tour.  “I’m not going to be touring and traveling the world. My priorities have changed. I have young children,” the music icon said to moderator Anderson Cooper onstage during the event, which included John playing songs such as “Tiny Dancer” and “I’m Still Standing.”  The singer also confirmed that he will still be making music following the tour and that he is healthy after being forced to cancel a series of shows in April due to contracting a rare infection in South America.  The 70-year-old said he will kick off his final world tour in September. . ...Read Full Story

Neil Diamond has decided to retire from touring after learning that he’s been diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease. “It is with great reluctance and disappointment that I announce my retirement from concert touring. I have been so honored to bring my shows to the public for the past 50 years,” Diamond, 76, said in a statement on Monday, January 22. “My sincerest apologies to everyone who purchased tickets and were planning to come to the upcoming shows.” Diamond did, however, say he plans to still work in some capacity.  “I plan to remain active in writing, recording and other projects for a long time to come,” he continued in his statement. Actress and comedian Mo’Nique called out Netflix for an offer that was considerably less than her male and white comedian colleagues. The Academy Award-winning actress took to Instagram with a video saying, ” I am asking that you stand with me and boycott Netflix for gender bias and color bias. I was offered a $500,000 deal last week to do a comedy special. However, Amy Schumer was offered $11 million, Chris Rock and Dave Chappelle $20 million.” Shortly after, actress and fellow comedian Wanda Sykes tweeted at Mo’Nique saying, “Thank you for speaking out, [Netflix] offered me less than half of your $500k.
