Vince Neil Announces The Completion Of Two New Mötley Crüe Songs

Mötley Crüe’s Vince Neil has announced the completion of two songs for the film adaptation of the band’s biography. The biopic, called “The Dirt – Confessions Of The World’s Most Notorious Rock Band” has been picked up by Netflix. Neil took to Twitter to announce the completion of the songs, posting an image of himself and producer Bob Rock. “Me and Bob Rock finished 2 songs today! Great recording with him again,” the caption read. Mötley Crüe’s last studio album was 2008’s “Saints Of Los Angeles”, which was followed by their “Greatest Hits” compilation in 2009.  In 2015, the band completed “The Final Tour”, coming after performing a total of 164 shows in 72 markets, grossing over $100 million. Tool Reveals Summer 2019 European Tour Dates

Tool have announced a 2019 European tour, kicking off in June in Germany before wrapping up in Portugal in July. The Los Angeles band have not released a studio album since 2006’s ‘10,000 Days‘ and it’s long-awaited follow-up was initially expected to be out in 2017.  Tool will also appearing at Germany’s twin Rock Am Ring and Rock Im Park festivals, plus the Download Festival in both the UK and Spain. Mastodon To Kick Off 2019 With New Tour

Mastodon have announced dates for tour in early 2019 in the UK and Europe. The band will play 25 shows starting in Belfast on January 14 before wrapping up in Lisbon, Portugal on February 17. General ticket sales will begin Friday, October 26 at 10am. Mastodon recently cancelled a North American tour and shared news that longtime manager, Nick John, was undergoing treatment for pancreatic cancer before his passing on September 8. Ozzy Osbourne, Rob Zombie, Marilyn Manson and Body Count have all been confirmed for this year’s Ozzfest, which will be a special one-night-only New Year’s Eve celebration to ring in 2019. Ozzfest 2019 will take place on Monday, December 31 at The Forum in Los Angeles, featuring headliner Ozzy Osbourne and a line-up of some of the greatest names in rock which also include Jonathan Davis (of KORN) and Black Label Society, fronted by Osbourne’s guitarist Zakk Wylde, who will headline a second stage outside. Babymetal just released their video for “Starlight”, but now the Japanese pop-metal band has announced that it is saying goodbye to Yuimetal, who has chosen to leave the group to pursue a solo career. Ozzy Osbourne Announces Rescheduled Shows After Hand Surgery

Ozzy Osbourne announced he’s rescheduled the four tour dates he was forced to postpone due to an infection on his right hand. Osbourne ended up in the hospital, and has had surgery twice to fix the issues. Wife and manager Sharon Osbourne spoke about Ozzy’s condition last week on The Talk. “His hand hasn’t healed and it’s one of these things where they go, ‘No, tomorrow you’re going to be fine.’ But it hasn’t been fine and in fact he’s going into the hospital today and he’s going to have another procedure done on his hand. Disturbed Announce 2019 ‘Evolution’ World Tour Dates

Disturbed’s seventh studio album, Evolution, arrives today, and the band also just announced their 2019 tour. Former “Ghost” Members’ Lawsuit Against Tobias Forge Is Dismissed

A lawsuit filed by four former members of GHOST against Tobias Forge has been dismissed by a Swedish court. Forge, who founded the group eight years ago, was sued by four ex-members in April 2017 who accused the singer of cheating them out of their rightful share of the profits from the band’s album releases and world tours. As a result of the lawsuit, Forge was forced to reveal his identity after years of performing in a mask as “Papa Emeritus.” The lawsuit claimed that a partnership agreement existed between Forge and the four former members, all of whom performed anonymously in the band as “Nameless Ghouls.” The trial lasted for six days, and on Wednesday a 108-page decision was released dismissing the case. All That Remains Guitarist Oli Herbert Dead At 44

Oli Herbert, a guitarist and original member of the rock group All That Remains, has died at 44, his band announced. A cause of death has not been revealed. “We were devastated to learn that Oli Herbert, our friend, guitar player, and founding member of All That Remains, has passed away,” reads a post shared to the All That Remains Facebook page. Herbert, the lead guitarist for All That Remains, founded the group with singer Phil Labonte in Springfield, Mass. in 1998. Godsmack announced that they’ve postponed their fall 2018 European tour, following the news that guitarist Tony Rombola’s son has died. Iron Maiden To Release “The Studio Collection – Remastered” Digipak CDs

Iron Maiden have taken the sixteen albums they released between 1980 and 2015, and have remastered and re-released on vinyl and through iTunes. The metal legends announced that they will be issuing all the albums anew on Digipak CDs as “The Studio Collection – Remastered”. Overkill Finish Recording New Album, Anticipate February 2019 Release

Lindsey Buckingham Reveals Reason For His Split From Fleetwood Mac

Lindsey Buckingham reveals the controversy surrounding Stevie Nicks and his exit from Fleetwood Mac earlier this year, in a new interview with Rolling Stone. According to Buckingham, Fleetwood Mac’s manager Irving Azoff reportedly contacted him in late January to advise him that Nicks had given the band an ultimatum: either he leaves or she will. Buckingham recalls Azoff saying “Stevie never wants to be on a stage with you again” and then listing off a series of issues Nicks had with Buckingham during a MusiCares benefit show honoring the group a few days earlier – including a disagreement over the group’s intro music, and him allegedly smirking during her speech at the charity event. After failed attempts to address the issues with both Nicks and drummer and founder Mick Fleetwood, Buckingham exited the band.  Nicks’ first public remarks about Buckingham stated the guitarist was holding up the group’s touring plans for a full year. Aerosmith guitarist Joe Perry has announced that he will be embarking on a fall tour in the U.S., in support of his latest solo album, “Sweetzerland Manifesto.”  This is Perry’s first full studio record since his 2009 album “Have Guitar, Will Travel.” “Sweetzerland Manifesto” was produced by Perry and Bruce Witkin, with additional help from longtime Aerosmith associate Jack Douglas, who co-wrote and co-produced a number of tracks. MEGADETH leader Dave Mustaine said in an interview that the band is planning its own festival event “Kegadeth” to coincide with the release of their next album. 2019 Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame Nominees Include Def Leppard, Stevie Nicks And More

The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame has announced the nominations for 2019 and Def Leppard, Stevie Nicks, Janet Jackson, Rage Against the Machine and Radiohead are among the nominees. Def Leppard and Nicks earned their first-ever nominations, although Nicks was inducted in 1998 as a member of Fleetwood Mac. Also appearing on the ballot for the first time are Devo, John Prine, Roxy Music and Todd Rundgren. The other nominees are Kraftwerk, LL Cool J, the MC5, the Cure, Rufus & Chaka Kahn and the Zombies. Between now and Dec. 9 at 11:59 P.M. fans can go to the R&R Hall of Fame website once per day and make your selections. The top five vote-getters will be on a “fan’s ballot” and included alongside the results from others sent to “more than 1,000 artists, historians and members of the music industry” who make up the Hall’s voting body. Soundgarden Honors Chris Cornell At Statue Unveiling In Seattle

The late musician Chris Cornell was honored at the Seattle Museum of Pop Culture, which unveiled a life-size bronze statue of the late Soundgarden singer. The statute was commissioned by his widow, Vicky Cornell who attended with their children Lily, Toni and Christopher, as well as Cornell’s former bandmates Kim Thayil, Matt Cameron and Ben Shepherd. Vicky Cornell said at the ceremony, “it’s a reflection of his light, a light that shone through his music and touched millions. A light that he used to illuminate our lives, and a light that will continue to inspire those in the future. Ozzy Osbourne Postpones Concert After Infection Forces Hand Surgery

Ozzy Osbourn had to undergo hand surgery as the result of an infection. Osbourn was forced to postpone his Saturday night concert on October 6th at the Shoreline Amphitheatre in Mountain View, California for the medical procedure. According to a press release, Osbourne is expected to remain at Cedars-Sinai hospital in Los Angeles for a few days. A picture of Ozzy’s bandaged hand was posted on his Instagram page. Ex-Journey Singer Steve Perry Releases His First New Album In Over Two Decades, Called “Traces”

Former Journey singer Steve Perry has just released his first studio album in 24 years titled Traces. Traces is the follow-up to 1994’s For the Love of Strange Medicine and is co-produced alongside Thom Flowers.  Traces features nine original new tracks in addition to a cover of The Beatles’ “I Need You”.  Perry has stated the album was inspired by the death of his girlfriend in 2013: “I met someone and I fell in love with this person, and I lost this person to breast cancer four years ago. In the midst of that, I had written some songs, and before I met her I had sketched some. And so about a year ago, I started recording.”  Mark Oliver Everett of Eels encouraged Perry’s comeback, and he returned to the stage in 2014 after being absent for nearly 20 years. In 2017, he reunited with Journey for the band’s induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame though he opted against joining his former bandmates on stage. Jon Bon Jovi Announces Two ‘Runaway to Paradise’ Cruises In 2019

Jon Bon Jovi has announced that he will embark on the Runaway to Paradise cruises via the Norwegian Cruise line taking place in 2019. The first will take place from April 12-16 and go from Miami to Nassau, Bahamas on the Norwegian Jade. The second is a Mediterranean cruise on the Norwegian Pearl, traveling between Barcelona, Spain and Palma on the Spanish island of Majorca from Aug. 26-30. Social media rumors are flying that a Nirvana reunion could take place at the Foo Fighters’ Cal Jam festival in San Bernardino, Calif., this weekend. The surviving members of the band are all on the bill – Dave Grohl and Pat Smear as Foo Fighters members, and Krist Novoselic as part of Giants in the Trees. Joan Jett, who fronted Nirvana at their Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction in 2014, will also be present, as will Deer Tick singer John McAulay, who also took part in the induction aftershow party performance. Nancy Wilson says that “it’s looking really good for a HEART reunion tour” in 2019. During an appearance on the “Let There Be Talk” podcast with rock and roll comedian Dean Delray, Nancy revealed that she has since reconnected with her sister and discussions are underway about a possible comeback next year. “I’ve gotta say, it’s looking really good for a HEART reunion tour,” Nancy said, “There’s a big offer up there on the table. Me and Ann are talking, so we’ll keep talking.” During HEART’s 2016 tour, Nancy and Ann Wilson had a falling out when Ann’s husband, Dean Welter, was arrested for assaulting Nancy’s then-16-year-old twin sons in a backstage altercation at a gig near their hometown of Seattle. He pleaded guilty to two lesser assault charges to avoid jail time. German band RAMMSTEIN are hoping to release their new album in early 2019. Guitarist Paul Landers said: “Right now, it looks like this new record will be coming out next spring, and what we’ve been mainly doing is playing together in a circle, with all the guys in one room. Smashing Pumpkins Announce 30th Anniversary Tour Dates

Smashing Pumpkins will return to the road later this year for a series of dates celebrating the 30th anniversary of the band. Beginning in late November the band plan to set off on a tour of live shows throughout the Midwest and Southwest, starting in Madison, Wisconsin and ending in Phoenix, Arizona. Amy Winehouse’ Back To Black Focus Of New Documentary

A brand new documentary of the making of the late singer Amy Winehouse’s blockbuster album “Back To Black” is set to be released digitally and on DVD and Blu-Ray by Eagle Vision on November 2nd.  It will include an exclusive bonus feature on all formats from a recently unseen private performance from February 2008, in which Amy performs some highlights from Back To Black and a handful of covers. Amy Winehouse – Back to Black tells the real story of how Amy’s best-known and most celebrated body of work came into being. It features previously unseen footage of Amy, new interviews with producers Mark Ronson and Salaam Remi, the musicians and others who worked on the album with her. The first trailer for the Elton John biopic “Rocketman” was just released, The film is directed by Dexter Fletcher and starring Taron Egerton as Elton John. The trailer depicts Elton John in his more formative years with all the glamorous and opulent costumes from back then. The teaser also depicts the dark side of the 71-year-old star, as well as the trials and tribulations that come with being a famous artist. The teaser also provides a look at the psychedelic nature of the film, which reinforces that it is not a straightforward biopic. The Cranberries Share Unreleased Song “Íosa” Ahead Of Their 25th Anniversary Debut Album Re-Issue

The Cranberries have unveiled a previously unreleased demo, titled Íosa. The song was recorded by the band for their debut album “Everybody Else Is Doing It, So Why Can’t We?” – but it never made on to the tracklist.  Released 25 years ago, the group was planning on re-issuing the album on it’s silver anniversary, before the untimely death of singer Dolores O’Roirdan in January.  However, the band is still continuing ahead with the special release, which contains more rarities, on October 19, as well as finalizing plans for their final studio album next year. “We will do this album and then that will be it,” guitarist Noel Hogan recently said in an interview. “There is no need to continue.”  Íosa, which translates as Jesus in Irish, is the band’s only recording in the language and takes influences from Catholocism and church singing. Jefferson Airplane Co-Founder Marty Balin Dead At 76

Marty Balin, singer for the ’60s psychedelic rock band Jefferson Airplane, has died, his publicist and family said in a statement. Balin was 76. The statement did not mention a cause of death for the co-founder of the band, and his wife, Susan Joy Balin, was by his side when he died. Balin’s songwriting credits for the Airplane included “It’s No Secret,” “Today,” “Comin’ Back To Me,” “Plastic Fantastic Lover,” “Share a Little Joke,” and “Volunteers.” Jefferson Airplane helped define the San Francisco music scene in the 1960s, debuting at the Matrix nightclub in 1965, about a year before its first album, “Jefferson Airplane Takes Off,” was released. The band performed at three of the legendary music festivals of the ’60s, including the Monterey Pop Festival, Woodstock and Altamont. Jefferson Airplane broke up in 1973, after which Kantner, Slick and Balin formed a new band, Jefferson Starship. That band had a string of hits in the 1970s including “Miracles” and “Count on Me.” In 1996 Jefferson Airplane was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. The Eagles announced the 11th compilation box set in their history. Legacy will be released on Nov. 2 and will feature all seven of their studio albums together for the first time, plus their three live albums along with two concert films and a Singles and B-Sides collection that includes 10 tracks. Anthrax broke the news that they will be releasing an expanded and remastered 30th anniversary edition of their 1988 album, “State Of Euphoria”, on October 5. The reissue of the New York thrash band’s fourth record – which reached No. 30 on the US Billboard 200 – will be presented in a 2CD package, with the first disc featuring the remastered album alongside all of the B-sides originally issued plus a 1989 live recording of the set’s second single, “Antisocial”, recorded live in London at the Hammersmith Odeon; billed as “Charlie’s Archives”, disc two takes listeners inside the band’s writing and rehearsal sessions to share insight into the writing, development and recording process of the album’s songs. The Rolling Stones Announce ‘Voodoo Lounge Uncut’ Archive Concert Film

The Rolling Stones anounced they will release Voodoo Lounge Uncut, a new and expanded version of their concert film from 1995. The release, due out November 16, contains the iconic band’s complete performance from November 25, 1994 at Miami’s Joe Robbie Stadium which featured guests appearances from Sheryl Crow, Robert Cray and Bo Diddley. The updated version “has been recut and restored from the original rushes and includes newly remixed and remastered audio [and] reinstates the ten tracks cut from the original video release in the 1990s back in their original running order here for the first time.” Voodoo Lounge Uncut will also feature “five tracks from an earlier show at Giants Stadium, New Jersey, that were not performed in Miami.” In total, the new version of the film contains 10 never-before-seen performances. 2018 “Louder than Life” Festival Canceled Due To Flooding And Excessive Rain

The “Louder Than Life” Festival was canceled Monday due to rain-related flooding at the venue, Champions Park in Louisville, Kentucky. According to a statement released by the event organizers, a full refund for all ticket, official hotel, and camping package purchases will be given. The festival which was supposed to run Friday through Sunday, but has been canceled by the company citing safety issues due to flooding. In a statement released on the website of the festival, the company said it came to a decision after inspecting the ground and infrastructure of the park. “It is with deep regret that we inform you that this weekend’s Louder Than Life festival has been canceled due to unsafe conditions resulting from ongoing rain and flooding at the festival site — Champions Park.” the statement said.“ The organizers added, “We will be back next year even bigger and better, and look forward to continuing our relationship with our incredible fans and this great city.”   Louder Than Life was to include headliners such as Nine Inch Nails, Alice In Chains and Godsmack, and in total was expected to have 51 bands playing in three stages. Slash and his bandmates Myles Kennedy and the Conspirators are portrayed as rag dolls in their new video for “Driving Rain.” The song appears on Living the Dream, which was released via Slash’s own label, Snakepit. Paul Simon Says “Goodbye” During Farewell Hometown Show

Paul Simon concluded his Homeward Bound: The Farewell Tour on Saturday, September 22nd by going home. The show took place in Flushing Meadows Corona Park, in Flushing, Queens, N.Y., just across the Grand Central Parkway from the neighborhood of Forest Hills, where he grew up. “It seems more like fate than coincidence that I should do the final show on this final tour at Flushing Meadows Corona Park,” Simon said, adding … “But this is less a goodbye than a farewell. Allman Brothers Band guitarist Dickey Betts is in “critical but stable” condition after slipping and cracking his head in Florida. Betts’ Twitter account says that all of his tour dates have been postponed. The Dickey Betts website says the singer-songwriter has been sedated since the accident Monday evening in Sarasota and also stated that Betts is scheduled to have surgery Friday to relieve swelling in the brain. Imagine Dragons has released a new lyric video for their song “Zero,” which they wrote and performed for Disney’s second film in the Wreck-It Ralph franchise, Ralph Breaks the Internet. “Zero” will play during the ending credits of the movie, due in theaters Nov. 21. According to Billboard, Maroon 5 will be headlining the Super Bowl LIII Halftime show. Billboard has also learned that while special guest appearances for the performance have not yet been finalized, Cardi B and Travis Scott are on the short list. In a statement, the NFL said, “It’s a Super Bowl tradition to speculate about the performers for the Pepsi Halftime Show. Paul McCartney new studio effort, Egypt Station, has given him his first No. 1 album on the Billboard 200 chart in over 36 years.
