Joe Perry Cancels Fall Tour Following Recent Hospitalization

Joe Perry has been forced to cancel his upcoming solo tour across the US after his recent collapse in New York. The Aerosmith guitarist joined Billy Joel onstage at Madison Square Garden earlier this month, but collapsed backstage. Paramedics treated him on the scene before taking him to hospital.  Perry later issued a statement to say that the tour will be called off, per doctor’s orders. The statement read: “Just wanted to thank everyone for all of the kind messages I’ve received this week. I’m home and doing well, but the doctor recommends a bit more downtime before getting out to rock again, so regrettably I had to cancel my upcoming tour dates. Shinedown Breaks Record For Most ‘Rock Airplay’ Top 10s

Shinedown has now officially scored the most top 10s in the history of Billboard‘s Rock Airplay chart with “Get Up.”  “Get Up” is the second single from the band’s album Attention Attention and has become the band’s 11th top 10, breaking the band out of a tie with Foo Fighters for the most top 10s in the chart’s history. Rolling Stones Announce 2019 U.S. ‘No Filter’ Tour

The Rolling Stones announce that next spring, they will be bringing their “No Filter” tour to stadiums across the U.S. It will be the band’s first concerts in the States since the Desert Trip festival in October 2016.  Mick Jagger said in a statement, “It’s a thrill when we play stadiums in the States, the energy is always amazing!” Added Keith Richards, “I’ve always loved playing the States. Metallica Donate $100K To California Wildfire Relief Efforts

California-based rock band Metallica are lending a hand to those affected by the wildfires in Northern and Southern California, and have donated a combined $100,000 to relief efforts. The All Within My Hands Foundation, the band’s charitable branch, will be giving $50,000 each to the North Valley Community Foundation and the Los Angeles Fire Department foundation to help out. The band stated: “All Within My Hands has made a $50,000 donation each to the North Valley Community Foundation and the Los Angeles Fire Department Foundation. Both agencies provide service to victims at evacuation centers and other much needed relief. We would like to encourage you to join us in supporting those in need and our first responders in any way you can by donating money, non-perishable food, clothing and other supplies or by giving your time volunteering or providing temporary housing. Elton John has teamed up with John Lewis & Partners for a new Christmas commercial titled “The Boy and the Piano.” The company said in a statement, “this year’s story is about the power of a gift, and how that gift inspired, changed and influenced the course of a little boy’s life. Queen’s ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’ Returns To Hot 100 For Third Time

Queen’s 1975 single “Bohemian Rhapsody” re-entered the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart for a third time this week. This marks three separate decades that the classic song has climbed onto the charts. This rare occurrence was previously achieved by only Prince’s “1999,” Michael Jackson’s “Thriller” and a number of seasonal songs and Christmas tracks, according to Billboard. “Bohemian Rhapsody,” was featured on Queen’s fourth album A Night at the Opera, and was first released in October 1975. It reached No. 9 in 1976, and peaked at No. 2 after the released of the movie, Wayne’s World, in 1992. Now with the release and huge success of the movie Bohemian Rhapsody, it has sent the soundtrack album to No. 3, Queen’s highest chart position since 1980. Limp Bizkit Hitting The Studio To Record New Album

Limp Bizkit has been promising for years that they were going to release an album called Stampede Of The Disco Elephants, as the follow-up to 2011’s Gold Cobra. And now it seems like it’s finally happening, though perhaps with a new name. According to guitarist Wes Borland’s Instagram account, Limp Bizkit is hitting the studio this week to record. Borland said on Insta: “we would have started last Saturday but were displaced by the fires and lost some gear. Getting back on our feet and in the studio within the week.”  Borland, as well singer Fred Durst, were impacted directly by the wildfires currently ravaging California. Borland’s pedalboard, two guitars, two amps, a cabinet, more pedals and other miscellaneous pieces of equipment were were lost in a house fire; and Durst shared the news that his house was lost as well. . ...Read Full Story

Foo Fighters’ Dave Grohl Feeds Firefighters Battling California Wildfires

Dave Grohl is doing his part to support the California firefighters trying to contain the California wildfires. On Monday night, the Foo Fighters frontman opened his kitchen to Fire Station 68 in Calabasas, California. The firehouse captioned an Instagram post: “It was awesome to get a visit tonight from Dave Grohl. He also treated us to some of his own @BackBeatBBQ. Thanks Dave! It was excellent!” Grohl’s Backbeat BBQ account also shared a snapshot from the night adding, “To all the @LosAngelesFireDepartment and @LACountyFD heroes we met last night… thank you. ZZ Top Announce UK And European 50th Anniversary Tour

ZZ Top announced a 2019 anniversary tour across the UK and Europe next summer. As of press time, Billy Gibbons, Dusty Hill and Frank Beard have only announced three shows so far, with further dates to be revealed in the coming weeks. ZZ Top will play at Prague Rocks on June 19, at the Barcelona Rock Fest on July 5, and London’s SSE Arena Wembley on July 12.  Jimmy Barnes will be the band’s opening act in London. Aerosmith’s Joe Perry ‘Alert’ After Being Rushed To The Hospital Following Collapse After Billy Joel Concert Performance

Aerosmith’s Joe Perry is conscious after being hospitalized following a performance with Billy Joel at Madison Square Garden in New York City on Saturday, November 10. Perry’s manager, Paul Geary, said “He had just walked off stage after performing with Billy Joel, and immediately complained of shortness of breath. The in-house EMTs connected an oxygen tank and decided to take him to the hospital. He’s awake and alert this morning.” Perry, 68, collapsed in his dressing room. The site reports that paramedics worked on Perry for 40 minutes before placing him on a stretcher and rushing him to the hospital. A Perfect Circle Release New Music Video Called “So Long And Thanks For All The Fish”

A Perfect Circle have released an “apocalyptic-themed” music video for “So Long And Thanks For All The Fish,” a song from their 2018 album Eat the Elephant. The video, directed by Kyle Cogan, is set in an alternate 1950’s suburban US neighborhood, where dolphins are able to fly and everything seems to be burning, ending in an “explosive” manner. Hugh McDowell, Former Cellist Of Electric Light Orchestra, Dies At 65

Former ELO cellist Hugh McDowell has died at the age of 65, according to his former colleague Mel Gale. McDowell joined Jeff Lynne’s band in 1972 and made his first studio appearance on its second album, ELO 2, the following year. After a short absence, he returned in the mid ‘70s, leaving in 1980. In 1980 he appeared on Gale’s album Gift Wrapped and went on to teach music and conduct a children’s orchestra. Jane’s Addiction’s Perry Farrell announced the members of his new band, the Kind Heaven Orchestra. The band is named after Kind Heaven, the $90 million immersive performance experience Farrell is co-creating in Las Vegas, which is set to open next year. The Kind Heaven Orchestra perform at the inaugural Bill Graham Festival of Lights, taking place at the Teragram Ballroom, Los Angeles, on Nov. 30; and will follow-up with a second Festival of Lights show at the Fillmore in San Francisco on Dec. 2.  The band will also drop an album sometime in 2019. Bruce Springsteen Announces ‘Springsteen on Broadway’ Album

Bruce Springsteen announced that he will release an album from his award-winning Springsteen on Broadway show, due out on Dec. 14. The two-disc set coincides with the end of the show’s 236-performance run, as well as the premiere of his Netflix special, both of which take place that same weekend. The Netflix special is comprised of two performances recorded for private audiences back in July. Springsteen released a preview of the album with “Land of Hope and Dreams,” the second-to-last song in the show’s running order. Disturbed and Greta Van Fleet are proving that rock music can still top the charts. The two rock bands both debuted in the top five on the Billboard 200 chart this week. Greta Van Fleet’s debut studio album, “Anthem of the Peaceful Army,” entered the Billboard 200 chart at No. 3 and sold 87,000 equivalent album units, 80,000 of which were traditional album sales. Disturbed earned the No. 4 spot on the Billboard 200 chart with their latest album, “Evolution,” pushing 71,000 units, 65,000 of which were traditional album sales. Disturbed’s previous five records all entered the Billboard 200 chart at No. 1, starting with 2002’s “Believe” leading up to 2015’s “Immortalized;’ the only other bands that have achieve those numbers are Metallica and the Dave Matthews Band. Meanwhile, Greta Van Fleet are currently touring Europe to promote “Anthem of the Peaceful Army” before returning to the U.S. in December for a number of shows. Former Molly Hatchet Frontman Jimmy Farrar Passes Away At 68

Jimmy Farrar, who sang with Molly Hatchet from 1980-82, has died at age 68. The news was confirmed by the band’s bassist Tim Lindsey via Facebook, and a page specifically for fans of Molly Hatchet says Farrar passed away at on Monday of congestive heart failure, and kidney and liver failure. Farrar suffered three heart attacks in 2017, and had bypass surgery performed in Atlanta. Born in La Grange, Ga., Farrar met Rocky Manbrettie, a former roadie for Molly Hatchet who made sure Farrar’s demo tape got into the right hands, and Farrar was hired as the band’s lead singer, having just parted ways with former-singer Danny Joe Brown. Farrar performed with Molly Hatchet on their 1980’s platinum-selling Beatin’ the Odds, and followed up with the album Take No Prisoners a year later before splitting with the band, citing internal issues. Kiss’ 2019 ‘End of the Road’ World Tour Dates Revealed

KISS have now announced the dates for their  “End of the Road” world tour, that will kick off the first leg of the run in 2019. The tour will begin in Vancouver, British Columbia, taking place Jan. 31 at Rogers Place. The first leg of the “End of the Road” tour will take the band into mid-April. Lamb of God’s Mark Morton Says Project With Chester Bennington Will Be Released

According to a tweet from Lamb of God’s guitarist Mark Morton, an unreleased project between himself and the late Chester Bennington will be released.  A fan asked about the progress that was made on the project before Bennington’s passing, to which Morton responded, “Chester and I made some really cool music together that we were both SUPER stoked about. Clutch Vocalist Hospitalized After Fainting, Band Cancels NY Show

Vocalist Neil Fallon from the band Clutch released a statement revealing that he suddenly fainted on Saturday, October 27th and was hospitalized after being found. He claims to have later been diagnosed with “near-syncope.” The band canceled their New York show, which was scheduled for Saturday night since Fallon was medically advised to not perform, and as of press time it was unclear whether or not the show will be rescheduled. Clutch has been touring this Fall on the “Book Of Bad Decisions Tour” with supporting acts Evendust and Tyler Bryant & The Shakedown. Ronnie James Dio’s Autobiography Anticipated To Be Released In 2020

The longtime manager and widow of Ronnie James Dio, Wendy Dio, is working with legendary rock journalist Mick Wall on the long-awaited autobiography of Ronnie.  The book was 3/4 written before the singer’s death back in 2010, and was originally scheduled to be published several years ago via MTV Books. In an interview, Wendy Dio said “I’m working with Mick Wall, a journalist from England. And we’re working together. November and December, I’m bringing out… putting out more stuff. And it definitely will come out 2020.” Ronnie James Dio passed away of stomach cancer on May 16, 2010 at the age of 67. A few months after his death, MTV Books announced plans to release his memoir, which at the time was going to be called “Rainbow In The Dark: The Autobiography Of Ronnie James Dio”. Dio was renowned as one of the greatest and most influential vocalists in heavy metal history. The singer was recording and touring with ‘Heaven & Hell’ prior to his illness, when he was diagnosed with stomach cancer in late 2009. Vince Neil Announces The Completion Of Two New Mötley Crüe Songs

Mötley Crüe’s Vince Neil has announced the completion of two songs for the film adaptation of the band’s biography. The biopic, called “The Dirt – Confessions Of The World’s Most Notorious Rock Band” has been picked up by Netflix. Neil took to Twitter to announce the completion of the songs, posting an image of himself and producer Bob Rock. “Me and Bob Rock finished 2 songs today! Great recording with him again,” the caption read. Mötley Crüe’s last studio album was 2008’s “Saints Of Los Angeles”, which was followed by their “Greatest Hits” compilation in 2009.  In 2015, the band completed “The Final Tour”, coming after performing a total of 164 shows in 72 markets, grossing over $100 million. Tool Reveals Summer 2019 European Tour Dates

Tool have announced a 2019 European tour, kicking off in June in Germany before wrapping up in Portugal in July. Mastodon To Kick Off 2019 With New Tour

Ozzy Osbourne Announces Rescheduled Shows After Hand Surgery

Ozzy Osbourne announced he’s rescheduled the four tour dates he was forced to postpone due to an infection on his right hand. Osbourne ended up in the hospital, and has had surgery twice to fix the issues. Wife and manager Sharon Osbourne spoke about Ozzy’s condition last week on The Talk. “His hand hasn’t healed and it’s one of these things where they go, ‘No, tomorrow you’re going to be fine.’ But it hasn’t been fine and in fact he’s going into the hospital today and he’s going to have another procedure done on his hand. Former “Ghost” Members’ Lawsuit Against Tobias Forge Is Dismissed

A lawsuit filed by four former members of GHOST against Tobias Forge has been dismissed by a Swedish court. Forge, who founded the group eight years ago, was sued by four ex-members in April 2017 who accused the singer of cheating them out of their rightful share of the profits from the band’s album releases and world tours. As a result of the lawsuit, Forge was forced to reveal his identity after years of performing in a mask as “Papa Emeritus.” The lawsuit claimed that a partnership agreement existed between Forge and the four former members, all of whom performed anonymously in the band as “Nameless Ghouls.” The trial lasted for six days, and on Wednesday a 108-page decision was released dismissing the case. Oli Herbert, a guitarist and original member of the rock group All That Remains, has died at 44, his band announced. A cause of death has not been revealed. “We were devastated to learn that Oli Herbert, our friend, guitar player, and founding member of All That Remains, has passed away,” reads a post shared to the All That Remains Facebook page. Herbert, the lead guitarist for All That Remains, founded the group with singer Phil Labonte in Springfield, Mass. in 1998.
