New Jeff Beck Documentary ‘Still On The Run’ Set For DVD Release

Jeff Beck’s long career has been made into a documentary scheduled for release on DVD next month. Due in stores May 18, Still on the Run: The Jeff Beck Story will offer a comprehensive overview of “the history of a musical maverick and true innovator” and features interviews with Beck as well some of his peers and collaborators, including Jimmy Page, Eric Clapton, Rod Stewart, David Gilmour, Ronnie Wood, Slash and Joe Perry. The Blu-ray will also incorporates five previously unreleased tracks from Beck’s performance at the Montreux Jazz Festival in 2007, featuring “Eternity’s Breath,” “Freeway Jam,” “Nadia,” “Led Boots” and “Blue Wind.”  Beck fans can also check him out live on the Stars Align tour with Paul Rodgers and Heart singer Ann Wilson; the trio’s concert trek is due to begin July 18 and run through late August.. ...Read Full Story

The Beatles’ ‘Yellow Submarine’ Will Return To Theaters In July

The Beatles’ “Yellow Submarine” is to show in theaters across North America, the UK and Ireland starting July in honor of the film’s 50th anniversary. The 1968 animated movie has been restored in 4K digital resolution, according to an official announcement, although given “the delicate nature” of the hand-drawn artwork, no automated software was used in the digital clean-up. “Yellow Submarine,,” based on the song of the same name by John Lennon and Paul McCartney, tells a fantastic tale featuring Beatles songs including “Eleanor Rigby,” “When I’m Sixty-Four,” “Lucy in the Sky With Diamonds” and “All You Need Is Love.” Participating theaters and dates have yet to be revealed, but organizers say screenings will begin July 8 in the UK, Ireland and North America. OTEP Announce ‘The Fire and Fury’ Summer 2018 Headlining Tour

Otep have been working on their eighth full-length studio album, but are also planning ahead for the summer with their recently announced “Fire and Fury” headlining tour. The summer tour starts July 5 in Las Vegas at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino, hitting Canada, the Midwest and East Coast before wrapping on the West Coast with a finale Aug. 18 in Ventura, Calif. Ann Wilson Announces Title And More Details For New Solo LP

Ann Wilson’s next solo release has a brand new title and a new famous name she’s collaborating with. Wilson’s collection of covers, previously titled Songs for the Living Vol. 1, will now instead be called Immortal. Like the original title, Wilson says that the album’s new name underscores the idea that “the artists have left us, but their expressions live in our hearts for all time.” Added Wilson, “we’ll have some surprise guests on the record, including Jeff Beck doing some killer guitar!” The specific details of Beck’s involvement remain to be revealed, but they’re scheduled to play with Paul Rodgers this summer across a series of dates they’ve dubbed the “Stars Align” tour. Godsmack Releases ‘Bulletproof” Music Video

Godsmack premiered the official music video for “Bulletproof,” the lead single from the multi-platinum band’s upcoming “When Legends Rise” album that’s due out April 27 (the band’s seventh studio album and their first album in four years.)  The video, directed by filmmaker Troy Smith, satirically documents the band’s quest to make a new video. To coincide with the album’s release, the band will make festival appearances at Welcome to Rockville in Jacksonville, FL and Fort Rock in Sunrise, FL before heading to Monster Energy’s Carolina Rebellion May 5 in Concord, NC and Rock on the Range in Columbus, OH on May 20.  They will also be co-headlining an outdoor amphitheater tour with Shinedown with stops over more than 30 cities. The Rolling Stones Guitarist Ronnie Wood Has Been Given A Clean Bill Of Health After A Cancer Scare

After revealing last year that he’d been diagnosed with lung cancer, The Rolling Stone’s Ronnie Wood has confirmed that the doctors have given him a clean bill of health. “I had three months of check-ups and it was all clear and they said go and enjoy life,” Wood said in a statement. Last August, Wood went under the knife to have half part of his lung removed before the cancer had the chance to spread to other parts of his body. “If your body is riddled with cancer, it’s a losing cause. Luckily, all mine was contained within the left lung and I was fortunate enough to get shot of it, bang. There was none in the rest of my body so I didn’t require chemo.” Wood is already up and ready to hit the road with the Stones once again this Summer for a new tour through England. Def Leppard Announce Career-Spanning Box Set Series

Def Leppard just announced a career-spanning box set series, with the first of four packages to be launched on June 1. Volume One contains the band’s first four studio albums — On Through the Night (1980), High ’n’ Dry (1981), Pyromania (1983) and Hysteria (1987), to be presented in eight-LP and seven-CD editions. The set is presented in a brand new sleeve, complete with a hardback book, a replica of the band’s self-titled 1979 EP and written introductions by singer Joe Elliott, guitarist Phil Collen, bassist Rick Savage and drummer Rick Allen. Metallica’s Hardwired… To Self-Destruct debuted a few years ago, but the legendary rockers have almost managed to repeat history as the record has climbed back into the Top 10, ascending to No. 2 last week. Hardwired… To Self-Destruct was topped only by rapper XXXTentacion’s sophomore album, ?, which moved 131,000 units. In late February, Metallica announced the second North American leg of their ‘WorldWired’ tour and ticket sales helped to lift the album to the No. 2 chart position. Ringo Starr Announces U.S. Tour Dates

After receiving knighthood from the British royal family last week, Sir Ringo Starr has announced a U.S. tour with his All Star Band. The 20-date tour will take place in September and begins in Tulsa, Oklahoma and ends in Los Angeles. The band will also embark on a previously announced European tour in June and July, and they have a date in Atlantic City, New Jersey on June 2. The All Star Band will perform songs from each band member’s respective back catalog. Gene Simmons said he was “wrong” and “not informed” about cannabis as he began his role as “chief evangelical officer” for Canadian cannabis company Invictus. The announcement of Simmons involvement in the company last week took many fans by surprise, since Simmons had always been outspoken about the use of any form of drugs. “I was wrong and I was not informed,” Simmons told the Toronto Sun in a recent interview. “I’ve been dismissive of cannabis. Bruce Springsteen’s one-man show Springsteen on Broadway has added 81 additional performances, extending his stay at the Walter Kerr Theatre until Dec. 15. The extra dates will begin July 10 with tickets going on sale March 29 at 11 a.m. ET through Ticketmaster’s Verified Fan program. This marks the third extension for Springsteen on Broadway following its initial eight-week run in October. Queens of the Stone Age have released a creepy, animated music video for their song, “Head Like a Haunted House.”  The video—which was directed by Liam Lynch—shows frontman Josh Homme (or his head actually, which is attached to an animated body) in a soundproofed cell, in a bed surrounded by skeletons, at a creepy seance and trapped in any number of other strange scenarios. Skid Row Team Up With Corey Taylor And Halestorm For New Album

Skid Row bassist Rachel Bolan says that work is continuing on what will be a new studio album. The band have released two United World Rebellion EPs, and Bolan confirmed the third and final installment will now be released as a full-length record. According to Bolan, it will feature some famous collaborations. Bolan said, “We’ve got a lot of really cool songs. It’s the first time in our career we’ve written with people that weren’t just outside guys. We worked with friends like like Corey Taylor and wrote a really cool song – and the cool part is he’s a Skid Row fan, and we’re Stone Sour and Slipknot fans. Blink-182 Announces Las Vegas Residency

Blink-182 announced Monday plans for a Las Vegas residency to begin in May at the Palms Casino Resort’s newly renovated Pearl Concert Theater. “When the Palms asked us to do a residency here in Vegas, we said, ‘Absolutely!'” the band’s bassist/vocalist Mark Hoppus said in a statement. The 16-date Kings of the Weekend show is to premiere May 26 and scheduled to run May 26-27; June 8-9, 15-16, 23-24; October 26-27; and November 2-3, 9-10, 16-17. Steven Tyler Announces Solo Tour With Nashville’s Loving Mary Band

Steven Tyler announced on Monday that he is hitting the road with Nashville’s Loving Mary Band as his backing group. The 13-date tour is comprised of headlining shows, festival gigs and a benefit concert for Akron’s Children Hospital. The announcement is in support of Tyler’s debut LP We’re All Somebody From Somewhere, which was released back in 2016. The album hit No. 1 on Billboard Top Country Albums chart, and entered the top 20 of the Billboard 200 albums chart. The second annual Love Rocks NYC!, a benefit for God’s Love We Deliver, was held at New York’s Beacon Theatre on Thursday night (March 15).  It was a star-studded music event with performances by Keith Richards, Billy Gibbons, Ann Wilson, Donald Fagen, Mavis Staples, Emmylou Harris, and many others. The lineup created many opportunities throughout the night for artists to collaborate on different performances. They were all backed by a band that included Paul Shaffer, his longtime bassist Will Lee, who served as the musical director, guitarist Larry Campbell and session drummers Steve Gadd and Shawn Pelton.  Whoopi Goldberg served as the host for the evening.  The evening raised more than $2 million for God’s Love We Deliver, an organization that prepares and delivers, free of charge, “nutritious, high-quality meals to people who, because of their illness, are unable to provide or prepare meals for themselves. Roger Daltrey Announces His First Solo Album In 26 Years Called ‘As Long As I Have You’

Roger Daltrey will release his new album, As Long as I Have You on June 1.  This will be Daltrey’s first record since Going Back Home, his 2014 collaboration with Dr. Feelgood guitarist Wilko Johnson.  The week after the album’s release, the Who singer will embark on a tour where he’ll perform Tommy with an orchestra.  As Long as I Have You includes covers of songs written by Stephen Stills (“How Far”), Stevie Wonder (“You Haven’t Done Nothing”), Nick Cave (“Into My Arms”) and Garnet Mimms (the title track).
