Ghost’s New Album “Prequelle” To Debut In Top 10

Ghost’s new album, Prequelle, looks set to give them a Top 10 album in the UK and America. Prequelle is likely to enter the US Billboard charts at No.3, having sold between 49,000 and 54,000 copies. Lynyrd Skynyrd Extend Their Farewell Tour

Lynyrd Skynyrd have announced a new string of dates for their Last of the Street Survivors Farewell Tour. The upcoming second leg of the tour will take the classic rockers through the end of 2018. Skynyrd announced their final tour in January, launching it in May. The first leg is set to run through Sept. 1, wrapping in Atlanta at the Cellairis Amphitheatre at Lakewood. The tour’s second leg begins on Sept. 22 in Las Vegas and wraps in Biloxi, Miss., on Dec. 8. The tour is slated to extend into 2019, but those dates have not yet been announced. Jason Aldean, Kid Rock, Hank Williams, Jr., Charlie Daniels Band, Bad Company, Marshall Tucker Band, 38 Special, Blackberry Smoke and Blackfoot are among the artists who will perform as special guests during the tour. ‘A Night With Duran Duran’ Trailer Is Released Featuring Interviews With Nile Rodgers, Cindy Crawford & More

In celebration of the 40th anniversary of Duran Duran’s formation, the U.K.’s BBC Four will devote a night of programming to the British band with a pair of documentaries. Duran Duran: A Night In traces the TV and movies that inspired the group. Its companion film, Duran Duran: There’s Something You Should Know, will take a deep dive into the band’s history and unearths previously unseen archive footage and rare demos. Boys on Film — A Night With Duran Duran special features interviews with models Cindy Crawford and Naomi Campbell, producers Nile Rodgers and Mark Ronson, and the members of the classic lineup, including Andy Taylor, who left the band for a second time in 2006. Guitarist Daron Malakian Says “Creative Differences” Preventing New System Of A Down Album

System Of A Down guitarist Daron Malakian has confirmed that System Of A Down have no plans to record a new album. Speaking to Revolver, Malakian said that attempts to record a follow-up to 2005’s Mezmerize and Hypnotize albums have fallen apart, blaming “creative differences”. “I couldn’t say ever, but as of right now, it’s not looking like we’re doing something together soon,” he said.“ I can’t close the book on it and say it’s done forever. We still play live. Ghost Cancel Show In Milwaukee After Concertgoer Collapses And Dies

Ghost was forced to cut their set at Milwaukee’s Riverside Theater short after a fan in the crowd collapsed. The Journal Sentinel report that the incident happened around 9.15pm May 31, after fans made security aware of what had happened, and CPR was administered. Around 30 minutes later, it was announced that the remainder of the show had been cancelled. The fan was taken to the Columbia St Mary’s Hospital where he later died “of natural causes,” according to the newspaper. Ghost have issued a statement, which reads: “Tonight, in Milwaukee there was a medical emergency with one of our fans.  We decided not to continue out of respect to him and his family. Ghost and all who work with us ask that you please send the family your thoughts, prayers and respect their privacy during this time.” Ghost are currently on tour in support of their new studio album Prequelle which was released last week.. ...Read Full Story

Led Zeppelin’s John Bonham Honored With Statue To Mark His 70th Birthday

A statue of late Led Zeppelin drummer John Bonham has been unveiled in his home town to mark what would have been his 70th birthday, May 31st. Created by sculptor Mark Richards, the statue is situation at Mercian Square in Redditch town centre. The bronze sculpture weighs around 2.5 tonnes and is covered in anti-graffiti paint. The statue depicts Bonham in live action behind the drum kit and features his ‘Led Zeppelin IV’ symbol of three interlocking rings along with the date of his birth and death. Mark Richards took to Twitter earlier this morning to confirm that the statue has been installed overnight, writing: “Delighted that my memorial sculpture to John Bonham was installed over night in Redditch town centre. Styx Kicks Off Tour With Joan Jett & the Blackhearts And Tesla

Styx and Joan Jett and the Blackhearts kicked off their joint summer tour on Wednesday at the Five Point Amphitheatre in California, with Tesla serving as opening act for the rock legends. Styx’s set consisted of 16-songs: four songs from last year’s The Mission. Styx began their encore with “Mr. Roboto” which they reportedly have not played in its entirety since they split with former lead singer Dennis DeYoung, who came up with the record’s concept. Frances Bean Cobain’s Ex-Husband Sues Courtney Love For Attempted Murder Over Kurt Cobain’s Guitar

Frances Bean Cobain’s ex-husband, Isaiah Silva, is suing Courtney Love for attempted murder. Silva claims that Love conspired with manager Sam Lutfi, “13 Reasons Why” star Ross Butler, private investigator John Nazarian and musician Michael Schenk, “to break into his home, beat him up, kidnap him and try to murder him so they could gain possession of Kurt Cobain’s legendary guitar.” Silva is also alleging that they engaged in burglary, robbery, sexual battery, criminal threats, false imprisonment, extortion, stalking intentional infliction of emotional distress, and trespass. The guitar in question is a 1959 Martin D-18E from Nirvana’s MTV Unplugged session from 1993. It is rumored to be the last guitar Cobain played before his April 1994 suicide. Blink-182 Drops Out Of Bunbury Festival Days Before Start

Blink-182 has dropped its appearance at the Bunbury Music Festival in Cincinnati set for Friday, June 1. The band cited “unforeseen circumstances” as the reason, in a press release and a tweet posted to the band’s page.  Blink-182 was the headliner for the first of the three-day festival at Sawyer Point and Yeatman’s Cove on the downtown riverfront.  The Bunbury show, as well as one set for Saturday, June 2 at the Colosseum at Caesars Windsor in Canada, have been rescheduled. U2 Plays ‘Love Is Bigger Than Anything In Its Way’ At Third Man

Def Leppard’s Phil Collen Leaves Tour Due To Family Emergency

Def Leppard guitarist Phil Collen has left the band’s tour with Journey less than a week after it began. Steve Brown of Trixter was spotted in Collen’s place at their show in Hershey, PA. Although Def Leppard has yet not issued a public statement on social media, reports are saying that Collen’s absence is due to a family emergency. Brown filled in for Vivian Campbell for a few dates in 2014 and 2015 when Campbell was undergoing treatment for Hodgkin’s lymphoma. Iron Maiden Kick Off ‘Legacy of the Beast’ European Trek

Iron Maiden have begun the European leg of their “The Legacy of the Beast” tour.  The concert in front of a 10,500-capacity crowd at Saku Suurhall saw the band open with “Aces High” (complete with a Spitfire war plane replica suspended over the musicians), which hadn’t been performed since 2014, and continue with “Where Eagles Dare”, which was played for the first time in 13 years. ZZ Top’s Billy Gibbons Details New Solo Album Plans

ZZ Top’s Billy Gibbons is planning on releasing the follow-up to 2015’s Perfectamundo this year, and hinted that a new Moving Sidewalks album could also appear. Journey And Def Leppard Kick Off Their Co-Headlining Tour

Journey and Def Leppard kicked off their latest joint North American tour at the XL Center in Hartford, CT this week.  The bands last shared a stage in 2006, while Def Leppard were supporting their album Yeah! and Journey were briefly fronted by Jeff Scott Soto. The new tour runs until Oct. 6, and features full sets from both bands as they take turns opening and closing shows. On opening night, Def Leppard went on first, delivering a 16-track set. Bob Seger’s Postponed Tour Will Resume This Fall

After back surgery forced the postponement of his 2017 tour, Bob Seger is ready to to get back on the road, and will making up his missing dates. Guns N’ Roses have released a previously unseen video for “It’s So Easy” exclusively on Apple Music. The video was released in anticipation of the June 29 reissue of the band’s debut album, Appetite for Destruction. Paul Simon Kicks Off U.S. Farewell Tour

Elton John To Perform At Royal Wedding Of Prince Harry & Meghan Markle

It is confirmed Sir Elton John will be performing Prince Harry’ and Meghan Markle’s wedding on Saturday, though it’s still unknown whether John will be performing at the ceremony or at the evening’s private reception held among 200 guests. John, a longtime friend of the Royal Family, was particularly close to the prince’s late mother Princess Diana and has known her sons, Prince Harry and Prince William, their entire lives.  John performed an updated version of “Candle in the Wind” in Diana’s honor at her funeral in 1997. “Bohemian Rhapsody” Trailer Has Rami Malek Transformed Into Freddie Mercury

The trailer for Bohemian Rhapsody has just been released and if the teaser is any indication, Freddie Mercury would approve of his portrayal in the biopic.  Rami Malek portrays Freddie Mercury, and the movie chronicles the musical journey of Queen, whose original members also included Brian May, Roger Taylor and John Deacon. The film honors the group’s iconic lead singer, who died at the age 45 from bronchial pneumonia stemming from AIDS in November 1991, just one day after revealing he had contracted the disease. Queen, who is most famous for their hits “Killer Queen,” “Somebody to Love,” “Crazy Little Thing Called Love,” “We Are the Champions,” and “Bohemian Rhapsody,” among many others, was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2001. KORN To Celebrate 20th Anniversary Of Their Album ‘Follow The Leader’ By Performing At Three Special U.S. Shows

KORN announced they will play three very special shows in celebration of the 20th anniversary of the band’s album “Follow The Leader.”  The band will perform  Sep. 12 in San Francisco,  Sep. 13 in Los Angeles, and  Sep. 15 in Las Vegas. Korn guitarist Brian “Head” Welch said in a recent interview that these will be the band’s only U.S. shows this year before embarking on a major tour in 2019.

Police Confirm Death Of “Frightened Rabbit” Frontman Scott Hutchison

Scott Hutchison, frontman of Scottish rock band Frightened Rabbit, has been found dead at a marina on the Firth of Forth in Scotland, police confirmed. Hutchison, 36, sent tweets asking fans “hug your loved ones” the night before he went missing.  The musician, who had been open about his struggle with depression, tweeted Tuesday night, “Be so good to everyone you love. It’s not a given. I’m so annoyed that it’s not. I didn’t live by that standard and it kills me. Please, hug your loved ones.” He added, “I’m away now. Thanks.” Hutchison was reported missing Wednesday after leaving a hotel in South Queensferry, near Edinburgh. Green Day frontman Billie Joe Armstrong has been forced to postpone a string of shows with his new band The Longshot due to a bandmate’s family emergency. Armstrong revealed the remainder of the group’s West Coast dates in America had been cancelled, in an Instagram post to fans early on Wednesday. Huey Lewis Opens Up About Inner Ear Disorder Keeping Him From Singing

In an interview with “Today,” 80s music icon Huey Lewis said he is dealing with the idea of no longer being able to perform onstage after discovering he suffers from Meniere’s disease, a disorder that causes vertigo, ringing in the ears and progressive hearing loss. In April, the 67-year-old canceled all of 40 remaining shows on his tour after he was given the diagnosis. Lewis sought medical treatment after performing in Dallas, when he noticed he was having trouble hearing.  “Even though I can hear you, we can talk, I can talk on the phone — I can’t sing,” Lewis told Jenna Bush Hager. “I can’t hear music. Queen Announce ‘Crown Jewels’ Las Vegas Residency

The members of Queen are set to embark on a residency at the Park Theater at Park MGM in Las Vegas. News of the residency came courtesy of Queen’s official site, where a news release revealed that the band’s current lineup, featuring co-founders guitarist Brian May and drummer Roger Taylor alongside frontman Adam Lambert, will perform a 10-date “limited engagement” at the Park between Sept. 1-22. Brian Wilson Postpones Concerts Due To Upcoming Back Surgery

Beach Boys legend Brian Wilson has postponed several upcoming concert appearances. A statement from the 75-year-old musician revealed that upcoming back surgery will force him off the road while he recovers. Wilson described a long history with back pain, and mentions his brother Carl Wilson also suffered from similar issues. Brian’s doctors instructed him that surgery was needed “immediately,” causing the postponement of his concerts scheduled for this month. Only Wilson’s May concerts, which are in the process of being rescheduled, are currently affected by his medical issues. Linkin Park’s Mike Shinoda Releases “About You” Video

Linkin Park vocalist Mike Shinoda has released a music video for the song “About You”, taken from his upcoming solo album “Post Traumatic”. The track is a collaboration with producer blackbear, and the accompanying clip was directed by Shinoda. Shinoda spoke about the songwriting process for “Post Traumatic”, which is due on June 15. He explained: “It started in a really dark place. In the beginning, I wasn’t leaving my house.
