Barneys New York is under fire for selling a “distressed” shoe “styled with duct tape” for $585. In fact, it’s not just one sneaker style but an entire line of ‘distressed’ shoes.
The luxury department store is being slammed on social media for selling the pair of Golden Goose sneakers. One user on Twitter called it “poverty appropriation” , while another said the store was insulting poor people by selling the sneakers.
