Lincoln Elementary School in St. Joseph has received its National Blue Ribbon Award. Lincoln School is one of just 342 schools nationwide to be recognized this year by U.S. Education Secretary Betsy Devos as a National Blue Ribbon School. Those are schools which the U.S. Education Department says have above average overall academic performance or make progress in closing achievement gaps among student subgroups. St. Joseph Schools Superintendent Ann Cardon, Lincoln School Principal Craig Hubble and Lincoln Kindergarten teacher Heather Bartz this week accepted the award in Washington, D.C. Cardon tells us the award for Lincoln School “represents the efforts of the entire Lincoln School staff and families.”
