State Senator John Proos is reminding everyone that this weekend brings another chance to go fishing for free across Michigan. He says anglers can fish without a license on Saturday and Sunday as all fishing license fees will be waived during the weekend. Proos tells WSJM News the fishing opportunities in southwest Michigan are just another of the region’s strengths.
“Southwest Michigan’s economy continues to be benefiting from the natural resources that we have right here in our backyard, whether it be our small inland lakes or Lake Michigan and the incredible fishing opportunities that exist,” Proos said.
Normal fishing regulations remain in effect. Proos also notes during the weekend the state will waive the regular Recreation Passport entry fee for vehicle access to Michigan’s 103 state parks and recreation areas.
