A 43-year-old Paw Paw man is facing multiple drug and firearm charges following a narcotics investigation in the village.

Van Buren County Sheriff Daniel Abbott says the county’s Narcotics Unit executed a search warrant in the 200 block of Willard Street as part of an investigation into the sale of methamphetamine and cocaine.

During the search, detectives recovered a loaded .40-caliber handgun, 23.7 ounces of methamphetamine, 15.7 ounces of cocaine, and approximately $5,200 in cash believed to be connected to drug sales.

Abbott says two small children were inside the home at the time. Child Protective Services has been contacted to assist with a joint investigation.

The suspect was arrested without incident and taken to the Van Buren County Jail. The investigation is ongoing.
