The Berrien County Bar Association has presented a check to Present Pillars in Benton Harbor to help support the work it does with dads.
Bar Association President Deborah Bennett Berecz tells us the group picks a charity to support each year.
“This year we chose Present Pillars because of the great work that we understand they are doing to help dads and just build a strong foundation for their own personal growth and do a lot of things to encourage men to reach their full potential,” Bennett Berecz said.
The $1,500 that the association presented to Present Pillars on Wednesday came from its summer golf tournament. Bennett Berecz says Present Pillars has been making a real difference in the lives of Berrien County residents.
“I practice family law and I think most people recognize how important family is to our communities, our society, and I’ve always said kids have two parents for a reason.”
Bennett Berecz says dads and moms each have their own qualities to bring to a family.
The bar association will also collect items for Present Pillars at its holiday bash this year.
