Food industry leaders are in Michigan this week for a major conference in Kalamazoo.
Students, executives, and experts are meeting to talk about current trends in the industry. Dr. Russell Zwanka is the director of the food marketing program at Western Michigan University. He says affordability will be among the top topics of conversation.
“How will fuel increases be passed on to the consumer, or will they be able to be passed on to the consumer? That will always come up. Value. I would say consumers are always seeking value. And as the economy contracts even more, the push towards value becomes more front and center,” Zwanka said.
Amazon, Keurig, Dr. Pepper, and Kellenova are among the companies that sent representatives to Western Michigan University this week to attend the sold-out conference.
